I used this red dot for my patrol rifle. If you work for a thrifty agency that won't but you the good stuff, I would say this is best bang for your buck optic. I love how the Strikefire 2 is durable, easy to set up, and co-witnesses will with your iron sights. Vortex optics are accepted by most LE agencies and held up plenty well for many range days for me.

It truly is the other half to the “thrifty fifty”! Fits great, prevents flare, protects the front element, locks in place, and stores in reverse when not in use. Good stuff!

This Lens is everything I'd hoped for in the Thrifty Fifty. Low light photos are sharp and the 1.8 aperture provides a beautiful background blur. I've only had this lens for about two weeks, and it has quickly become my walkaround lens. It hasn't come off the 7D yet, and I cannot express how happy I am with this purchase.

And twice since then, someone thought they were being thrifty and bought the "less expensive" brand because "surely they are all as good as the other..." Is what I would hear proclaimed throughout the office. Only for those of us who had to use it - we quickly learned its' deficiencies. When Plantronics was sold, I had been a fan of "Plantronics'" headphone products since I started using them in 1994.
