I have owned a couple of passive docking stations and always had connection issues. This thing works flawlessly. 15 ports, UHS-ii card reader, thunderbolt. It has it all. Favorite feature is that it powers my Mac and runs everything I need with one thunderbolt cable. I do wish it had a HDMI instead of display port but being an Apple owner I guess we expect to use dongles. Ha!

Works on Cal-Digit Docking Stations to convert DisplayPort to HDMI

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The docking stations have made it as easy as could be to make our laptops go onto our monitors.

I think I bought 5 different docking stations before I found one that I could connect multiple USB3 external drives and actually use them. There are a few potential improvements, but they're minor; I'd rather not need an active HDMI adapter, my phone won't sync when connected to the front 20W USBC port, and it's a little too tall to fit in my under desk cable organizer

Two prior docking stations failed. So far so good with this one. I love how it connects to my MacAir. It hugs the laptop. The typical docking station would have yet another cord to plug in that would leave the docking station dangling on my desk taking up space. The HDMI works well with both an extra monitor or plugging my TV into it to watch TV thus alleviating the need for another set top box.

We have several monitors that do not have display port capabilities (VGA and DVI-D only) and are currently upgrading laptops/docking stations for our internal staff. The new docks only have two display ports and one VGA port. So to save on both buying new monitors and all the work of running cables, these converters are life savers. Good build and design.

Outstanding solid and thoughtful design, CalDigit thought of everything. This is one of only about 2 Mac docking stations in the world, that provides a REAR Host Thunderbolt/C port-- most all the others build that port into the front of the unit (which is an odd design choice, given that literally all other periph connections will be plugged into the back.) True plug and play- no software necessary. Zero funkiness, zero connection issues. Doesn't run hot either.
