Thunderbolt 2.0 To 3.0 Cable

The product is fine, but the information says it is USB 2.0 compatible. This is true from a data transmission standpoint, but that is not the end of the story. If using this cable on a computer with a USB 2.0 port, that USB 2.0 port needs to supply sufficient power for the active component on the USB 3.0 cable to operate. Unfortunately on my mid-2010 MacBook Pro the USB 2.0 ports do not have sufficient power for the USB 3.0 TetherPro cable. I am sure this is the case with some other computer's USB 2.0 ports. So I returned the TT USB 3.0 cable and purchased the TT USB 2.0 Active Extension. All works well now.

This device works very well. I think the Elements SE is of higher quality over the Essential Product line. I like that it does not have auto back up installed. The USB cable is 1.1/2.0 on one end and 3.0 on the drive connection end. 3.0 cable does not come with drive. Peripheral 3.0 USB cards are available, and the speed difference over 2.0 is amazing. Can't wait to get a peripheral card.

Needed to upgrade my USB cable and have bought TetherPro in the past. The 3.0 cable should have a performance boost over the 2.0 which is why I bought it. Not sure if there's anything unique about the cable itself other than the high visibility orange, so the cost may be a turnoff for some. I tend to stick with certain brands and TetherTools makes a diverse, nice line of products.

How I use this product: - I use this cable to connect my Canon EOS 5D Mark III to shoot tethered with Capture One Pro. I heard that some people have had problems with a frequently appearing error message. Be sure to go to Edit Preferences Capture Enable Tethered Support and only check the brands you actually use. This will allow the program to instantly narrow down to identifying what you're shooting with for a better connection. I just tested this out on my most recent catalog shoot and it eliminated the hiccups! :D What's great about it: - The cable is lengthy and transmission of images to the computer seems very fast even though it's USB 2.0. What's not so great about it: - They haven't made a USB 3.0 version of this specific thread (5-pin male), but this one works well for me already. Overall: - It's pretty straight to the point. If you have multiple ports and some are USB 2.0/3.0, use the 2.0 ones. Don't forget about the Enabled Tethered Support that I mentioned. I hope that helps! =

Sure enough, Thunderbolt 3 is much faster than USB 3.0. And it is easy to clean up because it has a built-in cable. Connecting one memory and unplugging or inserting the other will not disrupt usage. The transfer rate is the maximum speed of the CFast. Even if you copy two memories simultaneously

This is a quality thunderbolt cable; not much else to say.

USB 3.0 is very fast and the connector is better designed than USB 2.0. The mini USB will become lose after sometime.

Plugged this into both USB 2.0 and fast USB 3.0 jacks and have had no problems whatsoever!

These drives are very handy and the 3.0 drive is blessedly faster than the 2.0 -- and the price was right.
