Thunderbolt 4 Monitor

Got this to connect my XPS 13 from 2016/2017 to my 27" thunderbolt Apple monitor. It worked straight out of the box. However I have a Dell TB16 dock as well. Tried using that as well. So the dock's usb-c connector goes into the XPS, and the Startech adapter goes from the dock to the Thunderbolt monitor. That didn't work: I needed to update the BIOS, Thunderbolt firmware, thunderbolt driver, and installed I believe the latest thunderbolt application from the Intel website. Everything works now, even the audio and usb ports on the monitor. (facetime camera doesn't work, since it can't find a driver). All in all good buy, but I can't connect my 2019 macbook Pro to my thunderbolt monitor with the startech adapter. Monitor does not activate. Seems to only work with Windows machines.

Doing exactly what I need which is run my Thunderbolt Monitor as a monitor, USB hub, Ethernet port, and USB soundcard to desktop speakers. No problems here in first 3 weeks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Pluggable Thunderbolt 4 is the perfect addition to my MacBook Pro M1 Max. Previously I always had to plug tons of cables in and out of the MacBook ports... Monitor 1, Monitor 2, Power, Speakers, and more. I would avoid taking my MacBook around the house just cause I didn’t want to deal with all this. Enter the Pluggable Docking Station. So many ports! One one side...1 HDMI, two charging USB-C/Thunderbolt, three USB-A 10 Gpps (rectangle), 1 Ethernet. And on the other side…SD card, 1 USB-A 10 Gpps w/ charging, 1 audio, 1 96W Thunderbolt / USB-C, and a power button. So more than enough! Just plug your devices into the respective ports, and connect the dock to your laptop with the 96W Thunderbolt / USB-C port (wire provided with dock). While these type of docks can be pricey, if you live on your laptop everyday like me, it’s well worth it!

Works as expected. USB-C to Thunderbolt to a LG Thunderbolt monitor/hub works great.

After searching for and testing several monitors (Dell, LG) for photo editing, I finally landed on the BenQ PD2725U, and I'm glad that I did. It's a beautiful monitor in every way, especially for my primary purpose: photo editing. The image quality is absolutely gorgeous, and the colors appear to be as rich and true as I could ever hope. The hockey puck takes a little getting used to, but after awhile it seems easy and seamless to make adjustments, or change the color settings. The only difficulty I had was with the monitor's initial setup - BenQ shipped DisplayPort, HDMI, Thunderbolt, and USB Type A to Type B cables, but not the one I needed (USB-C) to connect my recent vintage laptop. After futzing around with the Thunderbolt cable, I finally realized that it just wasn't going to work, and went out and bought a new cable. For a $845 monitor, I was a little disappointed that it didn't include one of the most commonly used cables. Otherwise, I'm extremely pleased with the monitor.
