I use this to interface my new Focusrite Clarett 2Pre (Thunderbolt 2) to my new 2016 MacBook Pro (Thunderbolt 3) for audio processing. I am not sure if this is an active or passive adapter but it works for my purposes. 5 |

I have been using the Focusrite Clarett 2Pre. I bought this (the Sound Devices MixPre-3 II) for recording in another location, with the ability to record remotely. I love it. Great controls - and so much easier to operate and better sound than the Zoom F6 (which I had tried and returned). The only problem with the MixPre-3 II is that the on/off switch is poorly located. Otherwise, it's got great, clean gain and overall excellent quality in every respect. 5 |

When I bought this I was hunting for something to replace my Focusrite Clarett 8pre. I didn't want to lose the ability to record up to 16 tracks with ADAT, I wanted DSP plugins to improve the tracking experience and I needed to fit it in a small backpack. This thing checks all those requirements. The software almost feels like a modern digital mixing desk with the nearly unlimited patching/routing options. Antelope does seem to be a smaller brand and I have run into some software glitches. That being said, customer support has always had my back. If your criteria is similar to mine, this is the interface for you. 5 |
