I'm very happy with the performance of this disk with my late 2011 MacBook Pro. My MBP only has USB 2.0, so there's only so much performance I can get, but unlike reviews I saw for another brand of USB3.0 disk when used on a Mac like mine, this one seems to stay within USB2.0 power limits and works flawlessly. I reformatted for use with Time Machine and feel confident in the storage. 5 |

We use this in our living room with a late-model Macbook Pro connected via Thunderbolt - HDMI. The user interface is clear and easy-to-use, the resolution is sharp and the picture is bright enough to use in the afternoon, even without all of the shades drawn closed. Works great on my new MacBook Pro 13 M1 (late 2020). HOWEVER when I tried to use longer cables than the half meter cable supplied, I got jittery video and screen freezes. I did some reading on the net and discovered that once Thunderbolt 3 cables exceed half a meter in length, they lose capability unless they are active instead of passive. I decided to leave well enough alone and keep using the half meter cable that works! 5 |
