I have used these Active USB3.0 extension cable extensively, specifically for USB3.0 applications such as high-bandwidth devices such as 4K USB cameras. This cable is pricier than competing products, but don't be fooled, cheaper cables have proven to be unreliable when using to the full USB3.0 specification. Startech have less expensive USB2.0 extension cables which you should consider using if don't need the high-speeds of the USB3.0 specification - for example connecting HD cameras, microphones, or input devices.
