Tidal Service Review

I am using these speakers for 2 channel music listening. I use the Tidal HiFi streaming and I am very satisfied.

Sound quality is great! Especially play lossless music from TIDAL.

It's too bad that the Homepod was initially released for $349 and didn't allow outside music services like Spotify or Tidal. In my opinion, this is why it never caught on. Because for $299 paired with CD quality streams @ 44.1 khz 16 bit, it's a solid performer and a good value.

I recently purchased a Canon printer and ordered HAMMERMILL TIDAL MP paper to go with it. Exceptional weight and quality, and prints with ease!

At first I thought I was just fine listening to Tidal using my phones straight to the speakers, but the pause between tracks bothered me especially when listening to a continuous record like Dark Side of the Moon. Now I can hear the whole record without pauses, it plays straight through nice and smooth and has a wonderful sounding DAC that goes straight to my powered speakers using RCA cables. I bought a separate tablet to control it that way guests can have fun playing their selections and I don't have to hand over my phone.

I use the amp to steam Tidal, Qobuz through my Bowers and Wilkins floor standing speakers and they sound better than ever with this125 watt per channel amp. I am a long standing Sonos user and this was the easiest product to set up. It has a small footprint with great power

The Node allows me to use Spotify and Tidal Connect, which makes streaming HiFi audio very easy. I've also used the Bluetooth feature, which sounds decent but using the Connect features definitely produces the best sound.

I use my NAD C-700 to stream music both from Tidal Plus and Spotify, thru iPhone and iMac. Also with a Teac turntable. I like the robustness of the equipment and the high quality sound. The only thing I wish to be improved is a blinking light in the back.

For entry-level, this is really a great unit. It almost seamless switches between four HDMI sources. It has a fair amount of future-ready features (namely for the new XBox and PS5). It has a ton of source and music streaming capability. But just know that most music streaming features are driven by either the Yamaha AV Controller app or the yamaha Musiccast app (both essentially the same, both for iOS or Android). So this unit doesn't have native Deezer, Tidal, Spotify or Qobuz streaming built-in. It's all driven by a phone app. That's fine, quality-wise. But know that going in. You can't just pick up the remote and switch to Tidal, unless you recently used Tidal on your Yamaha app. But with the remote you can set up favorite Internet radio stations. Other than that, this is a unit that will satisfy most people with a small lroom and a 2, 2.1, or 5.1 channel setup. It turns on when a source is powered on. It shuts off when the current source or TV is switched off. Features that used to be found in units costing $600 or more are now in a unit costing less than $400. It's a great choice.

I bought it a week ago. Also Denon DCD-900NE CD player. And Wharfedale EVO 4.3 sound boxes, floor standing. Streaming from TIDAL. Room is 5 x 5 m. Classic living room, not optimized for hi-fi music listening. Nevertheless, the sound is really good. Presuming the source is good, quality CD or TIDAL or vinyl. Even TV. Audio streaming on this device opens complete new music libraries. You hear EVERYTHING, clear and loud. Sometimes you have not so good music quality input and it can be very disappointing. Not because this DENON is bad,but because it is so good. Bass and treble can be adjusted but I like direct sound most. So, sound quality comes first, as the prime expectation. No problem here, very impressive. Also important, there is no, or very little heat in this device. Also very important, using this device is highly comfortable, because of good remote controller and excellent HEOS application. At the end, there is something that could be better, bigger as the matter of fact: the display. It is irritating small. It shows only sound volume level and sound source name. Bigger display with more data would be very welcomed. Just to reach the high level of this device.
