I've been using LaCie drives for about 25 years. These drives have always been very reliable. This drive is no exception. I recently replaced my 2013 MacPro with a new Mac Studio. When I replace my machines I also replace my external hard drives. Externals don't last forever. I feel that after 5+ years it's better to be safe than sorry. I bought this drive to use to hold my main data. Data transfer was reasonably quick. Editing photos stored on this drive I have not felt data transfer is slow or unreliable. Overall I highly recommend this LaCie external hard drive. 5 |

I have used several of this model external hard drive. They have all lasted over 5 years. Transfer rates are at most 100 MB/s. usually about 50% less given it uses USB 3.0 and a slow hard drive (~5400 rpm). Great for back up. 5 |

High capacity external hard drive. Quick transfer of data + very quiet. Excellent rubber padding makes it a bit more bulky, but so much more secure, especially when traveling. Would certainly recommend to a friend. 5 |

I was shopping for external drive storage for photos and music. Purchased this flash drive about a week ago and used it last evening. It took about 45 minutes to transfer 140 GB of photos, which were at least 4mb in size. Overall, I'm impressed with this device, however it does get very warm (almost hot) but not enough you can't hold it. I assume it's because of the size and duration of the transfer. 5 |
