I've been using the 840 EVO series for a while now on my one computer (500GB) and enjoying how fast programs load as well as much faster picture and video processing. The Samsung Magician works well too. So, I bought this one for my wife's computer as a surprise upgrade. I got the 850 Pro because it was the latest tech with even faster transfer speeds, though realized her motherboard was only SATA II. So I added a SATA III PCI-E interface which should still provide plenty of speed boost over what she had.I believe the Over-Provisioning allows for a dedicated area for SSD optimization especially when you are using a greater percentage of the drive for programs and I/O. However, on my EVO, I somehow lost me small partition used for that purpose and now it just complains that using a Raw partition can corrupt my data, so I don't over-provision. This doesn't seem to harm anything or reduce transfer speeds probably since I have plenty of free space left over. I hope I'm not shortening the life span. Maybe it will work better on this Pro version. 5 |

My first NEW computer since 1991. My last new computer was an Apple Mac Quadra 840AV. I built my own Windows machines in the 90’s and 2000’s. Bought used Mac’s off eBay after that. 2007 and 2012 MacBooks. This is an incredible computer. I highly recommend it. Fantastic keyboard. Love it! 5 |

Just plugged it into a mini Windows computer and it works, no drivers are needed. Now I can back up and transfer files to and from my NAS in a reasonable amount of time. 5 |

Love how fast this thing is !! Taking me some time to get use to Apple Programs since I came from windows programs but just few days. It is amazing to me that I came from a Huge bulky tower to this slim book that can do way more than what I had and with more memory and storage than I will ever use ! LOVE IT 5 |
