The only thing you give up with this lens is any electronic connection to the camera so you get no EXIF data or auto focusing. I find auto focus wide angle lenses to be pointless. The EXIF data can easily be added through the camera or at import depending on your setup so that is only a minor inconvenience. Considering the price of this lens compared to a similar AF option there really is no reason not to use this lens.

I love to protect my data and have a low downtime when things happen. With the crazy weather we have had where I live ensuring those things has been challenging cause power outages are happening more often and sometimes for longer than what I want.
