Travel Camera With Wifi

I got this for travel photography to use with my 5D Mark III. I've got an eye-fi that does WIFI-based geotagging, but needed something that works anywhere, even remote travel locations not near any WIFI. This GPS unit does the job anywhere. If you go into a tunnel, cave, etc, it will use the last known location, which is good enough for those rare cases. Your photos will have GPS in them, which is good for map-based photo apps, filling the Gap where DSLR's have fallen through compared to smartphone gps tagging. Overall simple to use, and simple to setup on first use in native 5D Mark III camera menus. My only complaint is that it is slightly large, sitting in the hot shoe on top of the camera. If you're using a 5D with a 24-70mm lens, you already have a big enough camera, and this just adds to it. But after the initial size shock, it works fine and molds well with the camera. AA battery lasts a long time (at least a week or 500 pictures), and you can set the GPS poll interval to many levels from every second to upwards of once every 10 minutes. I had it at 1 min, and once left it on overnight by mistake, only to find the battery dead in the morning. Would be nice if it had an auto-shut off or power activated by the camera's on/off state. Built well, sturdy, fits solid to camera. Not worried about damaging or scratching it all. Matches the camera body well, despite size. 5 |

I love everything about this camera. Almost. Two requests: when set for 4k or 120fps video, can you force the camera to the CFast card? Pulling a card out will reset the camera to the CF slot. Then the 4k is only 1080 on the CF, or it craps out and while the camera is on my Ronin, I am unaware. :-( Provide some warning message OR a menu option to control this. Also, WiFi will be finicky when reconnecting to my iPad (which is dedicated only to the Canon wifi) when the camera gets powered off momentarily for battery change or lens or card... time consuming and annoying on set. The app and wifi should just reconnect, like every other WiFi. Otherwise, a perfect beast. Image quality, both still and video, is astounding. 5 |

Using in bridge mode to get WIFI inside steel workshop. The CPE510 is mounted outside on corner of overhanging roof post pointed to house with existing 5 GHz WIFI. Ethernet cable goes inside to TP-Link travel router. I now have stable, dependable high strength WIFI signal inside the building. Also wired LAN ports on the travel router if I ever need one. Very pleased. 5 |

I used to travel often and used the RavPower, however, most of the time it will not see any wifi networks unless you factory reset the device. My initial tests at home with the tplink 902AC saw much better visibilty of all wifi networks and once I figured out the odd menus had it up and running. it runs off a portable phone charger so can work in a coffee shop. So far so good. the real test will come when I get it to a hotel and see if it can see the wifi networks. 5 |

I love this portable WiFi device. It is perfect for travel or even when I am working in my backyard - my new work from home office. It is easy to set up using the Solis App. I use the pay-per-day option for data so that I am only paying when I need to use it. It saves me money when I travel internationally too. I no longer need to purchase my cell service's international travel plan. The Solis connect up to 10 devices so in addition to my laptop I use it with my phone and then use WiFi calling. It is so light and portable I just stick in my bag or back pocket. 5 |

I have a new Jet Pack WiFi device that I wanted to protect while I travel. It fit perfectly into the Pelican 1010 Micro Case. I also ordered the Pick N Pluck form insert to place over the top of the WiFi device to give it a nice snug fit. I now do not have to worry about the Jet Pack getting bumped around while I travel. The Micro Case takes up very little room and weighs very little. 5 |

As a full time solo traveler and travel blogger, it's essential that I always have wifi wherever I am in the world. With Skyroam, I don't have to depend on hotels or cafes to get connected; I can work from anywhere, and constantly keep in touch with my friends, family, and fans! I've used it in 12 countries so far, and counting! 5 |
