Bought this to use on trips to review photos at the end of the day using my phone instead of having to pack a tablet or laptop. I downloaded the file manager app from google so I can swipe between photos on my phone without having to open each file. 5 |

I no longer carry a laptop when I travel. Just an iPad and an external SSD drive. I can backup my images, and do quick Lightroom edits, more for fun and out of curiosity than final processing--I do that when I return home. I had been using a Samsung T7 drive as my hard drive. Sometimes the iPad didn't see it; the transfer speed was painfully slow--like 2 hours for a 128 GB SanDisk card. I stopped by B & H while in NYC. The salesperson advised replacing the Samsung drive with the SanDisk one. All problems solved. Much faster transfer rate. The drive is recognized consistently by the iPad. Now the question is whether I can improve my system further by upgrading to the latest iPads with the M2 chip. As an aside, the system would be much better if Apple improved its file manager program. 5 |
