Turn Alexa Into Karaoke Machine

It’s very easy to set up and I was able to link to Alexa too. Makes it so much easier to turn things on.

We use it mostly to connect SM58 to Pioneer Karaoke machine and match the impedence. Works great.

I bought my wife a Karaoke machine for Christmas which was two 1/4 microphone inputs on it. I was thinking how cool it would be to have wireless mics so people could hand them off as songs changed, instead of being limited by a cord, and having to swap seats. The WMS40 fit the bill PERFECTLY. I was a little concerned, with the low price, that the quality wouldn't be there, but the system is static free and sounds GREAT! I used balanced 1/4 cables (pulled from patchbay) to connect the microphone base unit to the Karaoke machine. The distance from the singers to the base unit is under 30 feet so I can't speak for the range of the unit.

I needed something fast for a public talk and I have no expertise in AV. This is basically a karaoke machine with 2 mics, super fast set up and was good to go in 5-10 minutes. It is completely adequate for speaking engagements. The speaker is a little larger than I would have liked but it was a good purchase for novices who just need to get up and going asap.

It's just perfect for what we need. Sound cranks. The microphone makes it an instant karaoke machine. Just great device.

It can be used on anything! I’ve got one connected to my tree lights than turn it on and off with my phone or Alexa. Also have them on the patio. Nice to tell Alexa Turn on the lights and I have a fully lit patio.

We love this wi-fi light switch! We had looked at getting Wink hub and bulbs awhile ago but ended up not because the only way to turn the on or off was with our phones, and we didn't want that. We wanted the option to either use our phone or a switch. So after we had gotten an Amazon Echo Dot and stumbled across this Alexa-compatible switch, we took a chance on it. Installation was pretty straight-forward, pretty much the same as a regular light switch. Once I got in installed I set up an account and added this switch and it worked right off. I then got it set up to work with Alexa and since then we haven't used our phones with this once, we always just tell Alexa to turn it on or off or we physically hit the switch if we're over near it. We like how the switch is a physical switch that clicks and springs back and not just a touch pad. Maybe others feel different but we like the feel of a switch. We haven't yet tried it out when the wi-fi has been down so I'm curious to if the physical switch will still control the lights without wi-fi. Used the PL mount to turn a GH5S into a B-Camera next to an Arri Alexa Mini. The mount is solid as a rock and worked perfectly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me just start off with how great this speaker looks and sounds out the box. Super great looks all around with a solid design. It feels well made and built to last. Unplugged it after giving it a full charge and took it outside for some tests. Downloaded the JBL One app and set up the EQ for even better treble for the outdoor listening. Even has settings for bass and mids for your liking. Great app to see battery life and product information. Battery life seemed great with over 8 hours and that was with the bass up with my workout music. Had the lights off in my room and nice little touch is the lit up indicator lights it has on the top. AirPlay was easy to connect and Bluetooth was fast to pair. One thing I did love was using Alexa to play songs and even turn off or on my Alexa connected devices. Or you can turn off the microphone from a switch on the back if needed also. Another nice port that was very useful is the lan port if you don’t plan to move it around too much for a straight always on connection. But back to the audio. It gets super loud unplugged but when plugged in it adds a bit more oomph to the sound which is always a plus. Can’t forget the passive radiator underneath moving some air. Only thing that was a bit glitchy at times was moving the volume up and down on the app. But with a update can be fixed. Love this retro JBL speaker and you will too.
