Turn My Phone Into A Surveillance Camera

Looking somewhere near the lens just isn't the same as looking INTO the lens. For a very reasonable price, talent can connect with the viewer. Our TMP50 was nicely made, easy to set up and gave a good result right out of the box. We used it with an iPad 6th generation as a prompter screen which fits well but just about maxes out the bracket adjustment. Removing the rear bracket will probably accommodate larger iPads or other devices. Smaller tablets and phones would also work as prompter screens. If shooting with a phone, centering the phone's camera will necessarily put the phone off to one side so you may need a binder clip or a clothespin to snug down the hood, but that's an easy fix for a unit that can support a wide variety of cameras or phones behind the glass. To sum up: a great price on a nice piece of hardware that yields results that would be hard to obtain if your script can't be directly in line with the lens.

My old tripod was heavy and hard to turn the camera. Spending this kind of money on a tripod when I already had one(ish), really was hard. But....Once I watched the youtube video on how it all works, attached my camera and used it - it's an extraordinary complete package that literally blew me away. Now, this is not light, I wouldn't travel with it, I use it in my studio and it rocks. The top pulls up, out, down and level, for shooting down. This is exactly what I wanted - for this price, there is nothing better. But...again, I wouldn't travel with it, you can take it to a shoot, it's not heavy, but I wouldn't want to drag it around with me to an airport. It's a sturdy excellent beast.

My camera doesn't have a headphone insert so this cable helped me turn my camera into an all around one-man-band workhorse. Worked very well.

My Ricoh GR needed a cleaning I think because I turn the camera on and off frequently and the lens moving out and in sucks air into the camera. Now, with the adapter I have mounted a UV filter and during long outings I leave the camera on (going to sleep after one minute). A touch of the shutter button revives the camera with no movement of the lens. The camera responds instantly. With the attached hood the camera, obviously, is larger, but still very light weight. I now use a Lowepro 30 Dashpoint attached to my belt to carry the new larger set-up. It is with me all the time.
