Turn Philips Hue Light Into Blacklight

I've been using Philips Hue for almost 10 years and I'm happy with this smart light system.

I have a number of lights in the Philips Hue family, and the blooms are no joke! Very light weight, but very well made. It fills up so much of the room with its light without being overpowering. Definitely well worth it!!

I already use Philips Hue lightbulbs (they’re amazing) and decided to try this lamp when we were in the market for a new bedroom floor lamp. What a hit! Its floor footprint is tiny (perfect for our tiny Manhattan apartment) yet the lamp is bright enough to replace a “proper” floor lamp — it delivers way more than just “accent” light. We’re obsessed and already want to buy more.

Great sound, still mastering some of Siri’s tricks to control my Philips Hue lights. Audio is great for speakerphone, and it creates interactivity at gatherings, like a disembodied extra presence.

This SanDisk 8GB player replaces my 12- year-old Philips 4GB player. The Philips battery finally died. The blue-trimmed SanDisk is very cute looking, works great and has a scratch resistant screen. The $19.95 price was a fair, though this player's design is from 2014. All works good, of course. Only minor ding is the 8 seconds it takes to turn it on if it has been off for a few days. Used on a regular basis, it still takes 6 seconds to turn on.

OK, as most know, this is not a true blacklight.  LED lighting is UV lighting but works like a blacklight.  I have tried several UV lights and always a bit disappointed, including the competing DJ Lighting brand one. The first thing I noticed is the build of the light which is metal, heavy (In a good way) and solid.  When you turn it on, the light is similar to a flood light, which it is supposed to be.  others Ive tried claim flood, but center is brighter than the rest of the light.  This ADJ UV Flood is a wide beam and has some reach to it.   I actually bought one of these about 2 months ago from another online retailer.  Then a bought a second one since the price the price dropped.  I saw the sale (price drop) here at B & H and could not resist.  Yes, i have a total of 4 of these and couldnt be happier. Only con i have found is that it does not seem to respond well to DMX like it should.  It is not a deal breaker with me as using DMX for me on a UV light is more for on/off.  For strobing or or any other effect, it does not change alot, like a color light would, so kind of a mute thing for me, though itd be nice if it would work properly.   For a UV light, youd be hard pressed to find a better one for @ $200 or less that has the quality and reliability i have found with ADJ lighting though the years.  In fact I still have several older bulb, duty cycle ADJ (American DJ back then) and all of them work flawlessly.

I used the tape for a blacklight party and it worked great under the blacklight. It adhered well also.
