Turtle Beach Wireless Headset Static Noise

Coming from a Turtle Beach headset, the Audio-Technica AT2020 really stands out from any other microphone that I have used. I do Let's Plays and gaming commentaries on YouTube and was always looking for a more professional and reliable microphone than my Turtle Beaches. After doing some research I stumbled across this gem and the Blue Yeti, which were both the same price. After seeing this on sale I thought I would go with this and it is easily my most favored purchase and would buy another one for sure. What makes this so great is the quality! It comes through crystal clear and I don't need to be right up against the mic for it to register my voice. It also does a great job of blocking outside noises as well. One thing to note is that it is only cardoid, which means it only picks up sound coming from the front. Pros: Crystal clear sound, small, reliable, VERY easy to use and very sleek. Cons: None so far 5 |

Bought this headset to replace a Turtle beach elite atlas aero and am very pleased with it. Comfortable for long gaming sessions, has a removable mic and battery life is fantastic. Super easy to set up with no proprietary drivers or software required to use it. I would however suggest installing the NGENUITY software to at least update the firmware. 5 |

We bought our son a Turtle Beach headset to use with a Dell laptop. Dell tends to use proprietary connections for things and parts. One of them was the use of a common headsetµphone jack rather than two separate jacks. The gaming headset has two separate plugs. This handy little adaptor worked perfectly and the Christmas gift we got him now works great. B&H also had the best price for this product and shipped immediately. 5 |

I switched from a Turtle Beach Stealth 600 to this headset. The quality of the sound is more crisp and smooth. Also love the look. Very nice RGB and syncing with my laptop and mouse. So very cool! ALL ASUS ALL THE TIME! 5 |

I thought my turtle beach headset was good until people started to tell me the clarity of my voice was defining during streams. This moment has come to be know as the Quakining. The price was fantastic, and the quality even higher. 5 |

I had a more expensive radio signal - Wireless Lavalier set, that was keep giving me headache by static noise even from close range.. Only using Boya By-WM4 for some days but so far it gives me perfect connection. It was a good choice. 5 |

This headset was purchased to replace an entry level Logitech set from about 10-12 years ago. I wanted a comfortable headset for video conferencing that supported usb-c, since both my Pixelbook Go and MacBook Air only have usb-c ports. The fact that this headset can also easily convert into a standard stereo jack was also very appealing. I'm not ready for a wireless headset since I dislike charging too many devices and the mics on Bluetooth wireless headsets usually rate poorly (nearly always, the complaint is that they are underpowered and too quiet). I've used this headset now for numerous many hour long calls. It is lightweight and comfortable, my ears do not get hot, and it does an amazingly good job at blocking out background noise without any active noise canceling technology. The ear pad material was softer than I was expecting and it appears to sink around my ears for a close fit. Sound quality has been very good, and when I asked the people on the other side of my calls how I sounded, they all confirmed that I was clear and easily understood. The cord is very long, and the usb-c connector makes a tight fit. Setup was the same as any other usb headset. 5 |

For years I had been using the older Sennheiser RS 120 wireless headset which operated in the 926-928 MHz frequency range. The performance was adequate, but the unit suffered from multipath cancellation (signal reduction due to the out of phase combination of multiple reflections). You will notice this when you move your head slightly, and there would be a sudden, and audible, change in signal amplitude or a short burst of background noise. As I had need for an addition system, I decided on the RS 175 as it seemed to have good reviews. I have not been disappointed. The RS 175 operates in the 2.4 GHz band with digital modulation. While 2.4 GHz systems are also subject to multipath propagation deterioration, I noticed none with this system, even with the headset taken outside onto the patio with the transmitter 40+ feet away. As typical with digital modulation systems, there was a threshold effect -- if the headset got out of range, the signal would abruptly disappear, quieting the audio -- in the past, you would simply be greeted with noise. In addition, I very much like the Bass Boost and Surround Sound options which can be quickly selected at the press of a button on the headset. The one negative for the headset is that you need to really take the headset off in order to figure out which button to press. I find this a rather minor inconvenience as I am not changing audio level, bass boost or surround sound options on the fly. In summary, Sennheiser did a superb job with this unit. The audio quality is excellent (I used an analog input -- an optical interface also exists for even better quality) and the annoying multipath effects so common with many wireless headsets are non-existent. 5 |
