Two Hand Camera Stabilizer

Two years ago I made my worse mistake in quite some time - rather than weigh my SONY HDR-FX7 I estimated its weight, over-guessing by 30% (the camera weighs in under 5 pounds). And in doing so I bought the Glidecam 4000 Pro stabilizer, and have never been able to use it with that camera. But now with my purchase of the Camera Weight Plate by Glidecam, I can now use the stabilizer with both my FX7 and my heavier cameras. This simple little device not only saved me lots of money I would have spent on an additional stabilizer, but I can transport one stabilizer for my cameras rather than two or more.

I use a NikonD200 with a Neoprene neck strap and the neoprene, flexible Stabilizer Strap (Op/Tech USA) around my chest when camera is not in use. The stabilizer precents the camera swaying when I am running, climbing, or otherwise active, even getting out of crowded vehicles. The stbilizer prevents the strap from impacting anything like branches, rock walls, furniture, or the person in the seat ahead of me. It permits the camera to instantly slip out of the stabilizer, leaving the strap in position./ The strap length is adjustable to fit over a bulky jacket or vest, and the snap-on ends make it easy to fit.The central lens opening can be enlarged to fit extremely wide diameter lenses. I canot imagine how it could be improved.

I have 3 of these on different plates and such to keep from having to remove the camera from the stabilizer, they are indispensable.

This stabilizer is pretty amazing i gotta say. I like mostly everything about it. It gives such a more professional feel and look to your image. Your hand gets tired after hours of shooting, but the thing is you are determined to shoot more because you see the stable image. Just wish there was a cover to protect the bearing because debris gets in easily if in highly windy area. When people saw this thing and heard the price they thought it was useless, until they saw the results of it. :)

I love this lens. The image stabilizer is amazing. I'm able to hand-hold at 600mm and get perfectly focused shots. Couldn't be happier.

I wanted this specific lens for use on my Canon 5D3 on an 3 axis gimbal stabilizer. First, a small, light-weight lens, Second, a prime (a zoom would introduce a variety of focal lengths, but in changing focal length, it often changes the balance, which means re-balancing the stabilizer). Third 2.8 is better than 1.8 because I want more depth of field as I am using this SOLO without any kind of focus assist. That means I want to be around F8 or F11 to get maximum DOF so I can roam around with the stabilizer and stay in focus. Some tests I did proved very successful. The lens did everything I expected and more. It was so sharp it made the shots look great. It may seem counter-intuitive, but I did not use Image Stabilization when shooting video. The reason is that I read somewhere that when doing already-stabilized video recording, the IS tries to correct the small field changes and introduces micro-adjustments which are not only unnecessary, but can look like jitter. I did tests with IS on and off and saw no improvement with IS on. But for hand-held still photography and regular hand-held video, I could be a benefit.

You can use it for anything. I use it as a stabilizer when shooting hand held video on my canon 5d. also great for sporting events or POV photos. all around great product.

Amazing Stabilizer!

Two things stick out to me: the magnet is excellent, and the case has a good hand grip. The grip is not smooth, and thus not slippery even when moist.
