U Shape Air Conditioners

I often record in my apartment or at the studio where I work - there is a ton of background noise like traffic, air conditioners, and creaky floors. The high pass filter for perfect for filtering those consistent background hums. Of course, a little fancy editing too. Arrived right in the delivery window, customer service from B&H is great as always.

I’ve had my power go out multiple times in a span of a week and I had enough time to save everything I needed to. The size also helps as my small apartment is already pretty cramped.

After trying one out in a Pelican Air case and liking it, I ordered two more for my other cases. It's uniform in shape and slim, not taking up too much room. The units I received were ready to go, and after a month, I decided to renew them because the beads were turning pink (indicating moisture). It takes at least 3 hours to fully renew the dehumidifiers, and then you need to leave it out for 30 min to cool before placing it back in the storage case. I like the form-factor of the Rugged dehumidifier compared to others on the market.

This cable works with all types of U.2 drives when connected to a slim line SAS connector on the motherboard, HBA, or RAID card. It is universally compatible with Highpoint HBAs, other HBAs, or direct connection to the CPU. Speeds on the drives I have connected using this cable meet their full advertised speed.

Absolutely love this NAS. Quiet, fast, and did I say quiet and fast!? I configured this 64GB memory model with 5x 7.68 TB Samsung U.2 drives in a RAID 5 array. The U.2 drives are fast like M.2 drives, but they have huge, finned heat sinks (same size as 2.5 drives but with NVMe connectors instead of SATA) and they fit nicely in the 12 available drive bays. I'm not new to fast video editing RAIDs, but I've come from servers and workstations with 5 to 16 rotating drives and 8x 2.5 SSDs arrays. I have been using 4GB cache Areca controller cards and 10Gbe copper ethernet. Now, this NAS is so much more convenient, soooo much quieter, and soooo much faster! I read good things about QuTS hero (ZTFS), so that is the operating system that I chose to use (it is included with the purchase). I have absolutely no buyer's remorse. Yes, this NAS is not cheap, but I didn't really run across any other solutions that were this fast, quiet, and scalable.

I have had a number of Furman power conditioners in the past 30 years. The pl has always been my favorite. I have had some cheaper power conditioners also and they are not conditioners whatsoever. All they are.. are exaggerated power strips.. and when you pick them up you will see the weigh less than a pound.. because most of the electronics are missing in the chassis. Not so with the Furman units. Furman units are very heavy because they have actual electronics in them like filters and other things that are going to be making sure the power is conditioned correctly. They shut down upon overload and the filter make sure there is no buzz or hum in the line. You cannot go wrong with a PL plus and B&H has the lowest price in the country!!
