I own 3 of these for a portable triple monitor setup. I'm tired of seeing only 1080p or 4K 15.6 inch monitors. 1080p isn't often enough. 4K is a little overkill and you might as well change the resolution on your desktop to 2.5K. Well, this is a native 2.5K display. Oh and it's 16:10 aspect ratio so it's actually 2560x1600. The extra height is glorious for working in Davinci Resolve, Blender, and any other program. It also has full size HDMI which is very rare for quality portable monitors. Don't buy the garbage you see floating around on Amazon when it comes to portable monitors. Buy the ASUS. ViewSonic also has some quality options. I like ViewSonic's 1080p OLED, the physical design is better but it's micro HDMI and well ... it could have been 2.5K. Overall ... as of 2024 this is literally the best portable IPS OLED monitor that's affordable you can buy. I used my xRite color calibration tool to calibrate each monitor to 400 nits and Rec709. You can confidently color grade on these. They have minimal back light bleed. ASUS has been releasing 2.5K 15.6 inch 16:10 (same resolution) OLED panels in some of their latest laptops, so we might see a new Zenscreen like this in 2025 as an OLED panel. However, you can't go wrong with a tried and true IPS panel. These are great. Go for it!

The G7 is not my first mirrorless and I have used dslrs in the past, but all of those pale in comparison to the video quality of this camera. This is the first camera I've purchased. The 4k video is crystal clear and the colors are fantastic. The autofocus is off at times so keep an eye on focus if you use that setting. The good thing is if the autofocus is off, one touch on the touchscreen fixes it immediately. One of my favorite features is the flip-out touchscreen, which is very handy if you're not directly behind the camera or need to move around while shooting. I also love the focus-pull feature that lets you set two points of focus while the camera does the rest. Extremely helpful to achieve steady footage and add transitions to your project. It is very lightweight, maybe a little too much, but the build quality is great and I am not nervous about damaging it at all. I received the 14-140mm lens with the kit and it is a great starter telephoto to go with the prime lens I received free from B&H. The lenses are very light and compact which is perfect for me since I do a lot of live shoots and do not have much storage space at home. I used to carry around a Nikon D3100, but not anymore thanks to this tiny camera. I record a lot of natural audio the missing headphone jack is not a big issue for me. For natural sound the camera does a good job, but I would recommend a small mic in the front to improve it since the camera mic is on the backside. If you're looking for higher quality audio it would be best to get an external recording system, although not needed. If you are like me and looking to dive in to purchasing your own video equipment, this is the best place to start. The price and lens options in conjunction with the stunning 4k quality make it a no brainer for starting out. This camera is all I need right now, but it could easily become a second cam if I decide to purchase another camera down the road (like a GH4 :))

I tried three different USB-C cables before trying this one - this is the one that finally worked to extend a touchscreen monitor from my Mac Mini.

We use the PORTKEYS BM5 III 5.5 HDMI Touchscreen Monitor with our RED Komodo. So far, it has performed well with no issues. It is bright, sturdy and is compatible with the Komodo, as advertised. It connects with the camera wirelessly. Portkeys has a video showing how to do this and how to use the various features. We've had a couple questions for them and they responded right away. Things that I like best are the bright display, color, tools, rugged build, ability to load LUTS, compatibility with the Komodo, and technical support.

For us, the touchscreen wasn't a make or break deal. We just needed a slightly larger monitor than the built in screen for our C-100. This monitor gives you full 1080p with all the settings you could need for a very affordable price. We are very happy with the purchase, with the only complaints being the attachment being a little finicky and the lack of an adapter to go from HDMI-HDMI (only comes with HDMI to mini-HDMI). I wouldn't say it's worth losing a star over though.
