Unallocated Space On External Hard Drive

My original 256GB OEM Toshiba ssd only had about 30% life expectancy left. I didn't want to deal with potential data loss, so I just decided to upgrade. I couldn't find any information on whether this was compatible or not with my computer. Dell says it is compatible with nvme drives up to 500GB, but I've seen reviews that say that's only because Dell hasn't tested larger drives with this laptop. I decided to take a chance because I wanted a 1TB drive (more storage, faster speed, and greater durability) and I'm glad I did. I ended up getting a great price during a Father's Day promo, just received it today, cloned my old drive to it via Macrium Reflect and the SSK NVME Enclosure, and it just works! I'm even getting the advertised speeds (tested with Crystal Disk Mark). I did have one issue where there was unallocated space left over after the cloning was finished. I ended up using Mini Tool Partition Wizard to fix this by moving a partition (blocking the unallocated space from the C drive) by first moving the offending partition to the end of the unallocated space, and then I was able to add the rest of the unallocated space to the C drive. Worked perfectly and the drive is running nice and cool at 25C. Can't really ask for a smoother upgrade!

I use it as an external hard drive for photos.

It is much smaller than the desktop or tall version of external hard drive and it take up less space on my desk which is great. No plug in cable required. It come with only one cable for it to connect to my Mac computer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I picked up this 3TB external hard drive because I consistently ran out of space on my old XBox. What a relief to know that I can download all the new games without worrying about space on my hard drive. The set up was as easy as plugging it in. I can't believe I ever used a console in the past without this. Game changer!

This is the third G-Raid external hard drive I have purchased. Nothing happened to the old ones, just needed more storage space. Use them for digital images in photography and video. Have tried other brands over the years and had them die on me. The design of this product allows them to be stacked on top of each other without damage or overheating. Needed a dedicated 1TB hard drive for a project, otherwise would recommend the 2TB for $50 more.

This external hard drive works really nice and quiet, and it saves lots of disk space on my laptop. The price for it is also reasonable.

I usually prefer the hard case to store my external hard drive. There is just enough space to store the drive and the usb cord.
