Moved in to a house with a nice Gen 1 system - 5 Connect amps hardwired to passive speakers in almost every room of the house. Loved that system, but it was pretty limited by contemporary standards. Biggest thing was no AirPlay with Gen 1. Recently took advantage of the Sonos upgrade deal for a very nifty discount on 5 Amps, 1 Port, and a Roam 2. The sound quality of the new Amps is noticeably superior to the Connects. AirPlay is essential. I also love the mono setting for one of our rooms where stereo just never sounded right. Great upgrade, worth every penny. 5 |
