I took shots at dark. The camera saw what I could not. It is going to be quite useful in my underwater adventures.

I have a walking staff that used to have a compass on top. It's lost but with this gadget I have a walking stick/camera holder!

I love these folks products. (I also recently purchased the T-2205X tripod.) The design, packaging, quality, features, etc. The weight-to-size ratio is excellent. At 15.25 inches contracted this little beauty will go into just about any photo bag, carry-on or backpack. The padded section of the upper column will be much appreciated once the snow starts flying here in Colorado. The removable hand strap includes a carabiner and a compass. Note that the compass isn't accurate when you have a camera mounted on the monopod, but this may depend the camera. This monopod was purchased to use specifically with a Panasonic FZ-1000 which mounts with great balance and security. A full-frame Nikon body with 17-35 mm lens feels pretty good as well.

I bought this monopod so that I can put it in my luggage when heading to a destination, while still having a solid base to work from when I get there. When I first picked up the BH box from the warehouse, I thought it was empty. This monopod is very light, but also very solid when extended. There is NO play in the first four extensions, and you have to push to get the 5th extension to flex. The twist mechanisms are very quick to open/close, as is the camera base. The screw fits perfectly into my Pentax K10, and it has lots of travel, i.e. the screw has enough length to fit solidly within the camera body, and once attached, it is very secure. Fully retracted, it is actually a little shorter than I thought, and if I move some gear around, it will fit INSIDE my Flipside 300. The kit includes both a regular wrist strap, a climbers hook for hooking outside a camera pack, and a compass. Not sure why the compass is there, but given that the overall design is well executed, I am sure I will find myself somewhere thinking oh, that's why they included it. I bought (and returned) other monopods as they were too large, or heavy. I won't be returning this one.
