This is a superb 300mm lens for the money. Unless you are doing lots and I mean lots of dark and murky lighted conditions shooting, there is absolutely no sane reason to blow almost 4x as much on the Canon 300 f/2.8 lense. None! This lense is significantly lighter on both your arm and your wallet while delivering true L series image quality. I shoot lots of nature and rarely if ever find myself wanting to drop into the f/2.8 range. 4.0 is perfect for most shots and most photographers. Great lense and for the price it can't be beat. 5 |

I used this tripod in a murky, swampy river of central Florida. I attached a nice swivel head to hold a Z8 with 70-180 lens. Seemed sturdy to me. Water did enter each of the 3 legs. I removed the bottom leg plugs and used a hose & nozzle to flush the legs for a good cleaning. Nice to know it is carbon fiber so it will not rust. Keith 5 |
