Universal Audio Dcs Remote Preamp

As a voice over artist--The combo of my microphone (AT875R) and audio interface (Audient iD4) had me pumping the gain knob to 4 or 5 'o clock on the dial..which in turn made for a TERRIBLE, hissy, noise floor...which in turn made me add Noise Reduction / hi pass filters, etc..much to the detriment of the overall quality of my audio clips. Now that I've added in the in-line phantom preamp, my gain knob is BELOW the 12'o clock position. So, the signal is boosted, and I'm not having to over-crank my interface just to get my speaking voice between -12db / -6 db, AND I'm using far less noise reduction/filters. The only downside is you can't dial in sounds/frequencies...however, it's an in-line preamp...so...that's the way it is. Know that going in, and you'll be fine. If you want a preamp that you can tinker around and play with different sounds, then this is not for you.

This perfectly protects my Universal Audio interface on road trips.

I use the Aluratek ABC02F Universal Bluetooth Audio Receiver and Transmitter connected to the Optical Audio output on my Sony TV. It pairs with a set of Sony Bluetooth earbuds to provide a separate channel for audio for my aging ears while the TV's audio continues to function independently for the rest of the family. The optical connection to the TV was simple and the ABC02F paired quickly and easily to the Sony Earbuds. The ABC02F is plugged into a USB port on the TV and is always on so the earbuds are reconnected within the time it takes to remove them from their charger/case and insert them into the ear.

I found the output audio very clean, very clean! Unlike any other brand I've ever had! It's an entry line from Universal Audio, but I found the quality of the pres impressive, still with the vintage function and with the pre-set 1176 compressor! It was worth the purchase!

This audio interface replaced my Universal Audio Volt 2, which was a great interface, but I wanted a little more. This along with the bundled software and plug-ins has been a game changer for me. Once I get a little more comfortable with the UA experience, I'll likely be stepping up to an Apollo Twin.

This small and easy to mount preamp fits right on the back of a battery pack with velcro. The knobs are easier to use than those of the HD camera it is mounted on. The quality audio and limiter gives me much more confidence than the built-in limiter and audio pre of the camera.

I am using the power conditioner with a tube McIntosh power amp and preamp 2 channel audio system and am very impressed with it's performance thus far. I live in an area with frequent power brownouts and moderate lightning activity and my system sounds clean and I feel safer with my system protected by this device. I would highly recommend it.

I work for the communications office in Victoria, Texas. We use the PRO MPAII for the radio programs we produce for four radio stations in town and for a lot of voice over projects for both radio and audio projects for our City-owned television channel. The unit is a very high quality mic preamp that has better audio quality than the mixer preamp we were using. The set up is easy and the preamp has lots of gain. It does take a bit of learning to get just the right amount of gain, impedance setting and output for each mic. We use both Rode NT1as and Equitek 100S mics with this preamp - both sound great through it. We set the impedance on the actual microphone to start with and experiment from there. We use the high tube plate button on, 48 volts on (for our mics) and the plate voltage on high. We use a fair amount of the tubes to soften the mics.

When the pandemic hit I had to use Zoom to talk to clients while I worked from home. I struggled for months with my PC's built-in low quality microphone. Keystrokes and washer/dryer noises were super loud in my audio. I finally decided to spend $$$ on a setup that better represents me professionally. Since this mic is popular with podcasters I knew it would meet my needs. The first benefit is the look. This mic is handsome and communicates that I was willing to spend some money on my setup. Second, it's spectrally complete; whether you need more lows or more highs, this mic gives your signal chain something to work with. One quirk of the SM7B is that it performs best with an ultra low noise preamp with 30 dB or more of clean gain. While there are cleaner, pricier options, the DBX286 has ample preamp gain and is more than clean enough for zoom meetings. The SM7B has a cardioid pattern, so sounds from behind the mic aren't picked up. By keeping my keyboard in this area (and using the noise gate on the DBX286) I was able to completely eliminate keystroke chatter from my audio feed. Finally, the output level of the DBX286 was a little hot for my sound card and caused clipping, so I switched to a Scarlet 2i2. While there may be more budget options available, I'm thrilled with how this setup looks and sounds. I get compliments on my audio quality.
