Universal Audio Volt

This audio interface replaced my Universal Audio Volt 2, which was a great interface, but I wanted a little more. This along with the bundled software and plug-ins has been a game changer for me. Once I get a little more comfortable with the UA experience, I'll likely be stepping up to an Apollo Twin.

I use the Aluratek ABC02F Universal Bluetooth Audio Receiver and Transmitter connected to the Optical Audio output on my Sony TV. It pairs with a set of Sony Bluetooth earbuds to provide a separate channel for audio for my aging ears while the TV's audio continues to function independently for the rest of the family. The optical connection to the TV was simple and the ABC02F paired quickly and easily to the Sony Earbuds. The ABC02F is plugged into a USB port on the TV and is always on so the earbuds are reconnected within the time it takes to remove them from their charger/case and insert them into the ear.

I found the output audio very clean, very clean! Unlike any other brand I've ever had! It's an entry line from Universal Audio, but I found the quality of the pres impressive, still with the vintage function and with the pre-set 1176 compressor! It was worth the purchase!

I would just like to know if I can cascade a second TB2 device to my UAD-2 Satellite Octo which has two TB2 ports (One already used for the StarTech TBT3TBTADAP). Thanks, Carlo

So far so good. Just in case anyone’s wondering, this is working with the Universal Audio Apollo x4. I did have to update my OS to 10.12. I’m not sure if it was only because of the Universal Audio requirement, or if there’s something where the older operating systems don’t recognize the thunderbolt 3 devices. It’s just something to keep in mind if it concerns you. I haven’t really cared enough to look further into it because it’s working for what I needed it for.

The Audio Technica AT8415 Universal Shock Mount fits the smaller shanked mics very well as there are not too many shock mounts available at a reasonable price for these types of mounts. I needed to isolate a Boom Mounted EV vintage PL9 and have found the 8415 to work perfectly! The shank is 19mm on the PL9, fit is good, holds solidly and isolates well from the boom and the sounds a boom can make when moving into another position. The instructions state the mount will handle down to a 12mm shank.... might be a little loose with this small of a diameter but you can cross the bands for a tighter fit. Overall, very pleased with the product and as usual, B&H Photo provided excellent service with fast shipping.

Bought this to connect a large Universal Audio rig to my new Windows DAW Workstation. Two 8 core UA Satelites, 2 Apollo 8p's, and and Apollo Twin mkii Quad, all Thunderbolt 2. Simply connected this to my workstation and the end of the Thunderbolt 2 chain to this and everything worked well.
