Universal Remote Control Yamaha Receiver

My old Yamaha Receiver was struggling to support 4K TV. For example, high res Netflix sound stopped working and lacked 4K upscaling support. I had this new receiver up and running with 5.1 sound support in less than 30 minutes. I then reprogrammed my Harmony Hub Remote to control the receiver + AppleTV + Samsung 4K TV. Picture and sound are both excellent and I love the addition of Bluetooth IN and OUT support. Love SCENE control programming. Picture quality out of my 4K Apple TV is better than ever. Even better than direct-connect to TV. My Youtube TV and Youtube looks and sounds great. Highly recommended. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My review for One For All universal Remote Control essential. 100% compatible guaranteed to work with all brands. It only took me a couple seconds to connect the remote to my tv. It is super easy you can connect up to 8 devices. 5 |

A week into this amplifier and I’m pleased with its performance and value. The A-S301 replaces a Denon PMA-600NE which I had -- briefly. The main problem with the Denon was the dodgy motorized volume control. Like the motorized volume control on the A-S301, it rotates clockwise from about 7:00 to 5:00 either by hand or by using the remote. The problems with the Denon were (1) it had almost no volume between 7:00 and about 8:30, and then the volume came on with a rush and (2) the steps using the remote were too coarse (an online review of a Marantz amplifier – same parent company – noted the same things). I was curious how the Yamaha volume control would work, but I need not have worried. I stuck a little orange dot on the volume knob and it was easy to tell that both the knob movement and the volume levels were aligned, and that the amplifier was capable of fine adjustment manually or with the remote. The other nice feature about the A-S301 (and its siblings) is the loudness control. I haven’t needed it much for contemporary CDs or FLAC files, but recently I got some FLACs and CDs of re-mastered Arturo Toscanini/NBC Symphony recordings from the early 1950s. These are mono, but adjusting both the volume and loudness greatly improved the listening experience. Kudos to Yamaha for that feature at this price point. I’m using a pair of Polk ES15 speakers, which is a combination that several online reviews recommend. I also have a Polk XT10 down-firing subwoofer. My living room is not large, and the Yamaha/Polk setup makes for a very good listening experience. The only thing I miss from the Denon is the built-in Bluetooth for listening. I like to play music from the speakers, and also use a pair of on-ear headphones around inside the house. I still haven’t found a good solution for that, but it certainly wasn’t a deal breaker. Taking all into consideration, and as others have noted, the A-S301 punches way above its weight. 5 |

Bought this for my wife who enjoys listening to vinyl records. The remote control makes using this receiver a breeze and it was exactly what she needed. Worked perfectly otu of the box. Sounds very good ! 5 |

This transmitter (used with the USB receiver) is a simple trigger and remote control system. What I like about this system is that every time I press the shutter button on my camera, it triggers and I never get a misfire. That may sound silly but many systems have misfires or odd behaviors. I haven't experienced any of that when using this system with the Angler Q400 monolight. Operating the remote is easy and straight forward, giving me 1/3 stop control of my bare bulb flashes and 1/10 stop control over monolights. Perfect. 5 |

This has everything I want for a remote shutter release. The wireless remote control has quite a long range; and if used for wired release you can just connect the cable to the receiver and to the camera, it doesn't even require the battery in the receiver. Both receiver and remote control work quite well, the only minor complaint I have is that you'll need to unscrew two tiny screws in the remote control to replace the battery if needed. I'm not sure why they don't design it the same way as the receiver on which you can just slide off the cover to get to the battery. 5 |

I am really enjoying this new receiver. I like I can program the inputs and using a remote control. The thing I like most is the high fidelity button or setting. Hi fidelity works great on both vinyl and cd’s and makes the music sound properly mixed which is why I wanted a new receiver in the first place. 5 |

I use this remote control with my D7000. I had a third-party wireless control, but it required a receiver to be plugged into a socket on the left side of the camera. That didn't work out well when using a tripod with camera mounted vertically. This remote solves that problem. Would prefer radio to infrared, but this works well for my needs. 5 |

I use this wireless remote to control my Sony HDR-CX675 for filming my wood shop projects. Now I only touch the camera to reposition it or to upload vids or stills. The remote behaves as described - 2 speed zoom in/out, start/stop recording, still photo snaps, and camera power on /off. Only downside is the receiver does not fit into the recessed hot shoe (receiver doesn't need hot). I recommend this! -Mike 5 |
