After losing data on a similar storage device because of a very slight accidental drop on the floor, I decided to try the LaCie "rugged" external hard drive. It really lives up to its advertised benefits. This is truly rugged. It has been dropped on the rocks on several outings and still works just as it did right out of the box. I'm a believer. I mostly use my Apple products for my business. I need for things to not break or fail. Losing data could be a nightmare. AppleCare seems like the quickest way to protect my computers (and phone). I also use in house SSD back up and BackBlaze so I am as protected as I could be. I always buy AppleCare. I have never regretted it even though I rarely need it. YMMV 5 |
