Unlocked Cell Phones For Africa

Cell phones are getting larger. Pockets getting smaller. This is a perfect way to carry an encased cell phone like a nexus 4 or galaxy s3/s4.Ony feature I do not like is the large Zing name on the cover.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I returned to the US two days ago after 3 weeks in East Africa. I threw the deflated Veer and camera cube into my duffle at the last minute to use as a daypack in the safari vehicles. Little did I know at the time how useful this bag would prove to be. After arrival in Africa, i inflated both the cube and the back support and loaded the cube with my backup camera, a Nikon Z5 with a 24-200 lenses, rain gear for my wife and I, snacks, extra camera batteries, our hats and gloves, glasses, phones and power banks for the phones. Days were dusty and the bag ended up on the floor of the safari vehicle for most of the trip. What was great about it was the access points made it easy to grab the necessary gear from it from each of the zippered compartments while bumping along on the dirt roads. Also, the material was easy to get the layer of dust off of it every day. My second camera was well protected while it bounced around on the floor of the jeep and easy to get out from the side access point. When we got home, my wife threw it in the wash and it looks as good as new. Thanks for the excellent design.

It took a little while for it to activate and connect to the cell tower, but once it did it gets better reception and data rates than our phones.

Now that cell phones have such good flashlight functionality you'd think there'd be little point to this. But it's great having on the keychain. Last night I had to take pictures of a leak at the underside of a water heater in a dark basement corner. There was simply no way to get a good image until I used this flashlight to light the area, which was under a protruding lip, and take the pic with the phone. Much more useful results. In the car at night it's surprisingly effective. I got it as a free item offered in a larger order, and it's one of the best freebies I can remember. Worth buying.
