Update Asus Z790 Bios Through Windows 11

Have enjoyed my new Asus Rog Strix Z790-E WiFi motherboard. It has all of the features that I could ever need and found it on sale, so that makes the purchase even better. RGB features are very pleasing. Storage capacity for SSD's is more than enough than anyone could ever need. Installation went very smoothly. Flash Bios feature worked great to update to latest Bios version. Overall, very pleased with my purchase.

I like the color, so neat yet powerful. I like the bios system, so simple to update. Lastly, it's Asus man, of course I like it!

This is a excellent motherboard! After initial BIOS update everything works perfectly. ASUS will be my goto boards in the future!

I have been pleased with ASUS products over the years. While this MB is not the very latest it's a good choice for my needs with all the features needed. Please understand that Mini-ITX MB's can have some limitations do to their form size. This board needed a bios update as initially there were issues only recognizing 1 of the 2 NVMe chips, also had issues with CPU temps and voltages which were all resolved with the bios update. These issues have nothing to do with B&H I only share them to possibly help someone in the future. This and previous purchases through B&H have always been great with good pricing/shipping.

I just plugged things in and it worked. The bios is simple enough to navigate. It was able to update all of its own drivers through Windows update. Make sure to follow the QR code on the box to get a PDF of the manual; the quick-start guide that's included in the box is pretty inadequate. (Doesn't tell you which DIMM slots to start with, or how to access the m.2 ports.)

Easy Windows 11 install. Easy assembly. I have not modified the Bios yet. Running for 2 weeks now and no issues.

Didn't even need to update the bios out of the box for the 9100f!

I'm using it on a Gigabyte Z790 Aero G with Phantom Spirit 120 air cooler, and the temps are very reasonable. I did install a contact frame with the cooler, and in the BIOS I'm running it at spec enhanced, to limit the watts to Intel's spec. The temps stay under 80C with 2 P-cores hitting 6Ghz and the rest at 5.7. If I set to optimized in BIOS the watts draw goes up to 315 watts and the temps go to 95C, but 2 p-cores will run at 6.1 GHz and the others at 5.8. For my purposes I'll take the lower temps and watts. In use it rarely draws more than 150 watts and usually stays below 50C. I'm using an old Antec Sonata case with only two case fans.

The ROG Strix Z790-E is an outstanding motherboard! I installed an i9-13900K and 64GB of DDR5-5600 RAM, along with an ASUS TUF-Gaming RTX 4090 OC, and two Samsung 990 Pro NVME drives. This is the FASTEST performance system I have ever built in 35+ years of building PCs. I am a dedicated ASUS customer and fan. MANY options on this motherboard as well!

I’m really happy with the ASUS ProArt Z790-Creator WIFI motherboard. One of the main reasons I picked it was for the Thunderbolt 4.0 ports, which are great for future-proofing. I haven’t had a chance to fully use them yet, but I plan to set up a remote workstation in my living room using an optical Thunderbolt cable and a docking station. It’s a solid option if you’re looking for Thunderbolt 4 connectivity. The board also comes with a bunch of M.2 slots, which is awesome for future expansion. I’m not using all of them right now, but it’s great to have that flexibility down the line. Another small but thoughtful feature is the Wi-Fi antenna with a magnetic base — my old motherboard’s antenna kept flopping over, so this is a nice upgrade. Overall, while it was a bit more expensive than I initially wanted to spend, I think it was worth the investment. It’s got everything I need, and it’s been reliable so far. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality motherboard with plenty of features.
