Update Sound Driver

You need to download a newer driver than what is on the CD because there is a Linux kernel update.

I haven't used it yet, I'm on my last roll of original media, I know you have to update the driver on the printer to use this new media, which will apparently speed up the printing - but it isn't backward compatible. So I'm patiently waiting to finish my roll. I'm reviewing this product to say How pleased I am with the price and the speed in which I received my goods. Being in Canada, I sometimes get f**ked on shipping charges - but BHPhoto spared me this pain. So Thank you. Dan.

If you get this, I needed a firmware and driver update. It was not working right. But the firmware is right on the Steinberg web site, and easy to install.

After a recent Windows update caused display driver issues, I needed to change to a different video input and my display didn't have built in support for DisplayPort. While it took a minor reconfigure for Windows to recognize the new connection, it's been working perfectly ever since.

The installation was easy, and it performed as advertised. Driver update was a breeze, and Armoury software is very good.

Great picture, great sound, and I love how quickly the apps update.

Please update: much happened since my first review. I been looping lately..I may do so again. But, for fine studio voice, I was getting frustrated with the Shure SM58 and Senn. E835. Was checking out handheld condensers when I remembered I had the Loopa. I know a lot more about sound now, and this is great..about like the Behringer SB78A(a sleeper value)...a little less high end but deeper bass. The best part , though, is that this doesn't need 48v phantom power...it uses the AA battery. It is very unique in terms of quality sound with special needs. Just thought I'd mention: you get a looper, a good basic hand condenser, and a self-biasing condenser. It has risen from the closet, to do many handy things!

After watching the review from Audioholics, I knew I was buying the best amp. This is an integrated amplifier...meaning it has a preamp and power amp in the same unit. There is no tuner (receiver). You can connect a turntable, tuner, and CD. It also has an optical and coax inputs but the coolest thing is the USB input. I ran a 20 ft USB cable to my Mac. There are instructions to download and install a USB driver which was easy. So here's the cool part. You change the sound preferences in your computer to the newly installed USB driver. On the Yamaha, press the Pure Direct button. Back on your computer, fire up iTunes and enjoy. This USB/Pure Direct configuration bypasses the computers sound card and plays the music as the sound engineer intended. I have the sample rate for the USB drive set to 48kHz (via the Audio MIDI) which is the most common frequency used by sound engineers. The Yamaha supports two sets of speakers. I have four beefy JBL's connected with a big Polk sub-woofer. The sound is crystal clear.
