This is my first MACBook. It is expensive and can not be upgraded after purchase - two big bummers. But it works flawlessly and has all the speed I was hoping for. I use it to create giant panoramas in Photoshop, starting with as many as 15 exposures. What took as much as 15 minutes to process now takes a few seconds. I have a lot of PSB files, gigantic. They save in less than a minute rather than 20. At home, I operate it clam shell style. I had no problem hooking the MACBook up to larger, calibrated screens, though I had to buy a boatload of converters. One way I could have saved money would have been to have purchased a much smaller solid state drive; maybe one TB. No solid state drive is big enough to hold all my photos. So, purchasing a conventional, inexpensive peripheral drive was necessary anyway. A harddrive that is configured for both PCs and MACS turned out to be the best way to go; though now I have about 3TB of unused solid state drive on the MACBook, a waste of money.

This is my second WD 1 TB drive, and I use them to both store and backup photos from my MacBook Pro (with solid-state storage). Even with lots of RAW files, the transfer rate seems fast. It is small, and easily stored when not in use. There is nothing about this drive that I would change.

Bought this as an upgrade to another portable hard drive I have for when I'm shooting on the road. It's super fast and I don't have to worry about a spinning disk since it's solid state. Also, being solid state it seems to draw less power from my laptop. The biggest plus is the extra speed though. Great little hard drive

I used this drive to clone a laptop hard drive to a solid state drive. Worked well.

I recently got a SanDisk 1TB SSD (Solid State Drive) and used a drive cloning device to clone my old 1TB Hard Disk Drive (HDD) to the new SSD. It works wonders in my 15 year old computer! It really speeds up drive-related activities, perhaps as much as 3 or 4 times faster. I think my old HP laptop computer is either a SATA or SATA II type, so I suspect those with a SATA III system would see even better speed results when going from a HDD to a SSD. Gotta love it!

This is an extremely reliable and easy to use Solid State Drive. Once initialized it's easy to clone form a Hard Disk Drive to this unit. Take out the old drive, insert this drive, and put your seat belt on.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The bleeding edge of speed and technology is here with the PCIE 4.0 compatible Samsung PRO line of internal SSDs. Quickly installed in the standard m.2 2280 form factor, Windows picks it right up and helps you put it to good use right away. Regardless of use - productivity, gaming or your primary Windows drive the improvements in speed over a standard platter-based drive ranks among the biggest upgrade you can ever get for a PC. I'll never forget my first upgrade to SSD, watching my PC boot before my monitor was even finished initializing - it's amazing. With PCIE 4.0 compatibility the Samsung 980 PRO helps you get the most out of the latest chipsets - and perhaps soon could serve as an expansion option for the PS5 once support has been enabled for the expansion slot? We'll soon find out!

I got this to upgrade a portable drive that was running low on space. I really like that it's PCIe 4, so should need to upgrade down the road, it's ready for next gen boards. It was also cheaper than the previous PCIe 3 version, so I figure that's a win-win.
