5 stars as an entry level tripod. If it is something you are only going to use a few times per year then this is the tripod for you.

B+W stopped using this boxes when you buy a new filter. They have come in these boxes for man years. They now ship in soft draw-string bag. So I now have to order one of these for storage each time I buy a filter from them. But they work, their solid, and protect the filter from being crushed when stuffed inside a backpack.

We use these for instrument cases, and ship them via plane and UPS whever service is needed, and they have never failed. I get them from B & H since they ship quick, and the combined shipping and item cost is the best I have found, plus B & H has always been 1st class to deal with.
