U.S Cellular Phone Screen Interview

I got this today and it works great with my cell phone, it even came with a 3.5mm to 3.5 mm cable for cellular use...I was surprised..also do yourself a favor..install the gain jumpers as stated in the directions..it will give you more audio on a noisy day. HTH

I had some serious issues getting this working and turns out it’s best if you turn off your cellular service on your phone while doing the setup. Worked like a charm for me on multiple devices. A new update also improved integration with Apple HomeKit. Very happy with it now.

I have a cellular phone based app that I use for my intercom. So I use these so my camera ops in the field can clamp them to the camera tripods and put the phone right in front of them. They work awesome. Highly recommend and will be buying more.

This thing never needs charging with the solar panel, and gets great cellular reception where our phone barely get any. Highly recommended this device

This microphone has great audio as long as the phone is in airplane mode. If it is not, any communication over the cellular antennas causes the ticking and distortion other reviewers have mentioned. When in airplane mode though, the audio is clean. I prefer to shoot video in airplane mode anyway so my recordings are not bothered by text messages or phone calls. So, this is no big deal for me. I love the mic and the build quality.

Nothing fancy, but allowed me to do a socially distanced interview with my phone with no added frills or expensive equipment.

I admit I am a very amateur recordist and phone tapper. I bought the That-2 to record an important but last minute interview with a client in California and had almost no time to read the instructions. But it was simple to operate and the quality of the voice recording (using a Tascam DR-40) was excellent. A heads-up for other amateurs--you must use the That-2 with a corded phone whose buttons are not on the handset. The people at B&H made sure I knew that before I left the store. I'd recommend this product highly.
