Usb Bar Code Scanner Setup

Holds Bar code reader very firmly, in places that are hard to get to.

This is a review for the Epson RapidReceipt RR-400W Wireless scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I’ve wanted for some time to have a dedicated scanner rather than using my all-in-one even though my all-in-one also has autofeed. Once I started using this scanner, I asked myself why I waited. There is no comparison between using the two. Opening the box there was a small unit well packed and taped securely. A small, folded easy to read “Start Here” guide, along with the power supply and USB cable was all that was needed. The setup was similar to a printer, and intuitive. The unit was light weight and seemed to be well designed. I chose to connect by USB as I was positioning the scanner near my PC, but assume that a wireless setup would be as one might expect. Some buyers may have some difficulty connecting to a wireless network if they have never done this before as there are several steps involved. I downloaded the driver and additional software and it installed step by step, showing me progress along the way. I also separately downloaded and installed Kofax Power PDF. Presto Bizcard is also included so I will now scan those piles of cards I have accumulated over time. The scanner has two paper paths to accommodate different papers. I tested it with about 15 pages and the scanner ran through them very quickly, including BOTH sides of each page. My computer gave me a number of options as to what I could do with the scans, but what impressed me most was the speed. Finally, this scanner can extract relevant information from and categorize the data from all my receipts, a previously burdensome task. Receipt management software is included as part of Epson ScanSmart, and the information can be uploaded to Quickbooks, Quicken, or TurboTax. A great little unit that does so much.

The two color system is a pleasure to work with and the bar code function makes it so much easier for inventory control

Great stand for desktop use. Only one drawback is that bar code label took some work to remove.

Purchased this to use for positioning bar code readers, sensors etc to allow us to design permanent mounting fixtures for the devices on nachinery.

This portable scanner just does wonders, it’s a versatile piece of technology that Epson has put together. The box includes connecting cable and a quick start guide to get along easily. Epson provides links to download its apps online known as EpsonScan. The Scanner needs the software to get started. The scanner is thin and very portable, significantly smaller and lighter weight (0.66lb) than any other scanners in the market. It is powered by either the USB connection or the internal USB-rechargeable battery and does not require an AC adapter. Its battery powered and micro USB rechargeable which works like a charm on all devices, the looks are elegant with a nice little LCD display and has a pro touch to itself. The scan quality is great and can be done through Wi-Fi/ wired methods which are really simple to follow. Functions like multiple pages scanning, single file output, easy conversion of scanned copies into desired format, rotation and deletion of individual pages are all included with this package. It has a power button which will do the job without any app access and comes with a slot to secure the scanner from theft. It can also scan business cards, Photo IDs which is a plus. It has a scan resolution up to 300dpi which is just okay for a scanned copy and it doesn't have an automatic document feeder which requires manual intervention every time a new page is loaded and it doesn't come with a memory card slot where the documents can directly be stored in rather than on a desktop app or a mobile app. Overall it’s an excellent piece of technology and very convenient. I am going with 5 star for this Epson Product for being the most portable scanner which is easy to use and is great enough to do the job. Love playing the game setup is a little difficult if you have a code for discount or something, and the headset could be just a bit more comfortable, and it would be nice if a cleaning cloth or something for the lenses was included in the package. Other than that I love Oculus!

I already have other Lorex cameras that are linked to Lorex Home. The setup was easy for the most part. Just use the QR code, set up your wifi and you are ready to go. The only improvement I'd recommend was a more visible QR code.
