Usb C To Mini Displayport Cable Apple

Works great. It's an Apple product, and it's pretty much the only way to be sure that you're ordering a Thunderbolt 2 cable in the mini-DisplayPort form factor. I needed to connect two old MacBook Airs, and this made it possible.

It is very useful to extend a Windows 10 laptop with a USB-C video output to two external 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 monitors along with other wired USB Type-A accessories like a keyboard and mouse. To have two external monitors, you must have Windows (not a Mac) and you must use the Mini DisplayPort output for one of the monitors with a cable that connects directly to a Mini DisplayPort or DisplayPort input on a monitor. Also, make sure that you connect it to a USB-C port on your laptop that supports video output. I have a laptop that uses the integrated graphics of an i7-8550U Intel processor connected to 2 HP 2415U 1920x1200 monitors, one using HDMI and the other using the Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable that comes with the monitor, and it works great. This allows you to have a 3-display setup at work (including the laptop display) that only requires a single cable to connect and disconnect your laptop as you start and end your work day. It was 4 stars for me because all of this was not obvious and required some research and experimentation on my part, but now it is 5 stars now that I know how to use it for 3 displays. I have owned every generation of iPad and have become a big fan of the Minis - great for travel, great for reading at night, and large enough screens to view photos, movies, etc. However, they never had the processing power and graphics capability of the larger models - until now. The new Mini Gen 6 has it all - great screen (now with very small bezel for greater viewing area) and now real horsepower. The first indication of that was doing updates to apps. Normally, the last Mini would take quite some time to process updates once downloaded. This new Mini blazes through updates much faster. Finally a Mini that sacrifices very little in comparison to the larger iPads. The swipe-only operation takes a little getting used to, but poses no disadvantages I can see so far. Just bear in mind this iPad (and all the other newer ones) requires a USB C charging cable (included). If you, like me, have tons of the old Lightning cables, they won't work. Additionally, many non-Apple USB C cables will not support charging, so be aware. Play it safe and use an Apple cable (comes with the cable and charger of course). As a side note, I have the new Apple folio case for this generation and it's pretty darn cool too. Great product, great B&H service!

The Pearstone USB C to DisplayPort 4k Cable (15') is a super long well made cable. I primarily use this cable to run a preview monitor from my MacBook pro to a client or other crew member. It keeps extra people out of the main area where I am working and it does a great job of this since it's so long. There isn't a ton to say about a cable but this is built well, supports 4k, and is super long so I'm happy. (I received this item in exchange for my honest review)

On my mac mini 2018 with a 4k monitor, I swapped an HDMI to HDMI cable with this thunderbolt to displayport cable. Huge difference! Before, the entire display was sluggish and unresponsive. Now, the picture is sharp, and the UI is smooth and responsive.

We purchased this cable for use with a new monitor. We've never used a Mini DisplayPort connection before, but it is working well with no issues whatsoever. The cable seems to be of very good quality, and I especially appreciate the solid connection with the PC interface and the monitor. The product description indicates its use for MacBook products and HDTV, but we use for a PC to monitor connection

When adding a new computer to my set up, I needed a mini-DisplayPort-to-mini-DisplayPort cable to connect the computer to my existing monitor. When shopping for the cable, I found a number that were 1/3 the price, but they all said that they didn't completely met the spec. The B&H cable description proudly announced that the cable exceeds the spec. And, as always, the part I ordered arrived on time.

useful cable now that Apple went with type C. A must for using the other stuff that have regular USB

This is essentially the same cable apple includes with an iPhone and iPad. If you're going to use it to charge and iPhone or iPad, make sure you have a USB adapter you can plug into an outlet. It's MFI certified which is certification for compatibility with Apple products. The cable is a little less flexible than Apple's cable. This might be due to a thicker and sturdier outer jacket which would make this cable a little more durable than the Apple cable.

As an engineer I can tell you the USB standard is way too general. There are so many variables. When you connect any USB device to any other USB device a little dance is performed. The device which is plugged in will ask who are you?, Device says I am XYZ and used for XYZ purpose. My version is XYZ, and I am brand XYZ. The computer, or iPhone will decide if it wants to let the device continue to do its task (charge, bluetooth, video, etc) For charging, speed is always best. You might think you saved a lot of money Not buying Apple branded cables or power adapters. But think again. Third party tests are out there showing hard data for using third party chargers/cable combinations. Test results for.. Apple charger with Apple Cable Samsung charger with Apple Cable Apple charger with Samsung Cable Other charger with other cable etc. The studies always show Apple charger with Apple Cable is the only combination which works as fast as possible (i.e. Meets the claims Apple makes). Important: If you are going to buy a third party cable or power adapter, look for a label Made for iPhone, Made for iPad (MFi Certified). This way you know the metal leads, voltages, and that little dance all have been looked at by Apple.
