Usb Flash Drive Slow Write Speed

The 8TB storage is a welcomed addition to my gaming platform. Do not try to run any games off of this drive as it is still not fast enough (I am using the USB 3.0 connector as my rig has no USB-C slots which limits my read/write speed) but, if you use this to free up internal SSD space, then you can benefit from this additional drive just as I have. Do not get me wrong - the read/write speed is smoking fast comparatively speaking to HDDs. It's just that my machine will not allow me the comfort of USB-C speeds. This is my limitation but, if you have USB-C slots, you will enjoy a rather significant boost in performance. For this reason, I give this drive 5 stars!!!

I use this as an expansion drive on my workstation for video editing. Works great. I have it connected via the included USB-C to USB 3.0 cable. When I initially connected it to a USB 3.0 port on the PC the write speed was very slow, only 40 MB/s. Connecting it via a USB 3.0 powered hub brought the write speed up to the expected 240 MB/s.

I wanted to know the actual Write speed, but didn't get a real world answer. But SanDisk is a GREAT brand (I have several USB drives & Memory cards), so I purchased the 512GB version and tested it myself connecting the USB-C plug to a new Galaxy S22 smartphone with USB-C port. - TEST RESULTS - Transfer of one 2.25GB Video file: Write speed: 43 MB/s Read speed: 100 MB/s - IMPORTANT NOTE: These results might be the optimal since it was ONE large file and the USB Drive was empty (except for that file when reading, so no fragmentation of any kind). With MULTIPLE files, the speed is lower, as on EVERY SSD, HDD, USB Flash Drive and Memory Card. - As every very compact USB drive with two different USB ports on each end that I have used, it gets a bit hot, but so far I never have any problem with any of them. - This one is compact, sturdy and clicks on each USB port position. It also has a hole for carrying. - I am Very happy with my purchase. - If you want faster Read/Write speeds, then an option is to buy Sandisk Extreme Pro SD Card and use an USB Card reader to use it as a USB Flash drive, but total cost is the double of this VERY COMPACT and STURDY USB Drive. Hope this helps other people.

this Flash drive is great in terms of write speed. But both the item packaging and B&H shipping packaging should be environmentally friendly - Big Plastic case to the Flash drive and plastic lined paper envelope for shipping NEITHER CAN BE RECYCLED

Have been using a USB 2. 64 gb flash drive that I had no problems with but very slow. Just got new computer with USB 3, so checked around, but B&H had best price by far (think almost $ cheaper than @). The drive is great. I highly recommend it.Having done business with B&H for over 35 years (since around 1979). I know they treat customers well.

This USB A flash drive is very small and only sticks out less than a 1/4 it is very fast for both read and write works well to play video files as well as other files. Highly recommend this is a A+ drive from a very reputable supplier!

This 128 gig 3.0 USB flash drive rocks, your price was outstanding for a drive of this speed and size. The first time I used it I thought that a transfer of about 6 large files had not happened because it was so fast, thanks for your prompt delivery also!

This Flash Drive is very fast as it of 3.0 speed type and takes advantage of USB 3.0 vs. 2.0. Works with either though. Small in size. I take advantage of this and keep it always plugged into my laptop for additional storage. I use it for holding archives of files I moved off of my SSD drive that I have backed up and then keep them available for immediate reference. I have not had any issues and I use it daily for the last two months.

This is a good size flash drive for transporting files to other sites. The USB 3.0 speed makes it a quick transfer.

A BEAST! Sustained write speed does not pause, stutter, or slow to crawl like some other CFexpress type B cards with similar 'specs.' On par w/ Delkin black n Angelbird that are also super fast n never slow down under sustained 'firehose' transfers!
