I needed a small set of USB speakers to use with an old computer that had a defective soundcard. They work beautifully. For the price, they are well worth the cost. Probably not good enough if you listen to a lot of music, but sound quality is more than adequate for listening to the occasional online video or email attachment. My mom uses computer speakers connected to the headphone jack on her Mac Mini. The jack failed (evidently this isn't uncommon). As an inexpensive workaround, I picked up this USB audio adapter, and it worked like a charm. Even plugged into a USB hub, it stays recognized and selected in the Sound System Preferences pane even after rebooting and waking from sleep. 5 |
