After years of trying to teleprompt by using a phone as a remote control for the ipad, I got tired of the scripts appearing differently on the client's screen versus what my phone showed. What's the point of seeing the script on your phone if it's not anywhere close to what the client is seeing. So, I got one of these adapters, a 12 inch monitor, a long 16 foot thin HDMI cable, and now I run the prompter app on my iPhone (in horizontal orientation) and it shows exactly the same on the prompter monitor. This remote control does exactly what you expect from it. Use it instead of your self timer and you always will be in the picture where you want to without having to rush back 'into the scene'. Use it also for long exposures in connection with a tripod to avoid camera shake. The only(small) drawback might be, that you have to be fairly in front of the camera to use it, because of the location of the remote 'eye' on the camera. But that's something you should easily be able to work around. I was also surprised at how small this remote is. And it comes with it's own little pouch. Now if I just could remember where I put it . . . . 5 |

Use this as a backup for A7M2 and for pole photography using wifi and PlayMemories Smart Remote Control. I can control exposure and power-zoom lens focal length remotely, and it takes up very little space in my kit bag. Should have bought this a long time ago. 5 |
