Great little radios, so far. Good range relative to similar Motorola Talkabouts.

I use Motorola radios for communication between crewmembers when on video shoots. When our hands are otherwise occupied with cameras, lighting, and audio, this remote speaker/mic makes portable radios more efficient and useful. This product works perfectly, with good transmission and reception.

Used on my Motorola smart phone to record music for church service. Wanted vocals to be louder than piano/organ. This did the trick. Very happy with results.

Used for canoe and kayak racing and yes birds. Took it to St Augustine gator park and it was almost too much lens. However most of the keepers were from this lens. Also took it to the Everglades and took pictures of butterflies hand held. It was the only way to get close to them. The pictures came out sharp and crisp. Then it was off to Marco Island and the owls. Took some video using the D3s. I couldn't believe the results. The video was unbelievable with the 600mm. You need a good tripod and a Whimberly head. Yes it is heavy but I bought a Bob Revolution baby stroller to help carry it down the board walks in the Everglades. This was a retirement gift to myself.

Used these in the Book Cliff backcountry in Utah on a packing trip 30 miles from any roads. I was very surprised at the reception and clarity. I was a couple miles away from others around ridges and rocks and trees yet still had clear communication. It wasn't until I was probably 3 miles away and separated by a few ridges that reception began to get "static." One excellent feature that the other high end midland radios don't have is the ability to charge with a USB and battery pack. Plugged them in each night and charged quickly with a portable battery pack. My other T299 and T295 radios that are marketed as "Outfitter" radios stay home because you can only charge them with an AC adapter - the cigarette lighter adapter won't work because they are not compatible with a 12v system. The one thing Midland can do better is to make a waterproof version because we were in snow for 3 days straight. Just had to be careful to keep out of the moisture which is inconvenient when you're doing a lot of communication.

Used to keep safe my PCB Einstein 640. Probably can fit 2 lights with radios. Foam have a perimetral layer (no cubed), This doesn't let your stuff touching the hard plastic.
