Used Recorder Instruments

I normally use my MixPre 6 II as my primary recorder for violin, cello, and other musical instruments. However, setting up the MixPre is always a hassle, and I don't like how it has to be powered. When something requires too much time and effort, there's a tendency to hesitate in using it. Since getting this recorder, I can start my recordings within a matter of seconds (literally). I can easily bring it anywhere, and it has become my preferred device for sound recording. The sound quality with the built-in mic is excellent, comparable to the MixPre II (of course depending on the mic you use). It is better than the Zoom H6 I used to own, especially for recording musical instruments. I also have the DJI MIC 2, which is excellent for voice and highly portable. However, when it comes to recording musical instruments, it falls short compared to the PCM-A10.

A fantastic value for the money. From beginner to expert musician can have so much fun and enjoyment with this recorder type instrument. Also great that it uses the recorder base for the fingering and is very intuitive. Being able to change keys, makes it fantastic for playing with transposing instruments. The 10 different voices : two being oriental instruments the other eight being western add to its flexibility. For instance, the Trumpet voice can be shifted lower so that it sounds and can play the range of the trombone. ,

Used this for vocals and it makes a really big difference in quality than just direct through an interface. Can't wait to try this on other instruments.

Used with BlackMagic Design Ultrastudio Mini Recorder. Worked like a champ.

Great for Vocal and Instruments!

I was very pleased that the connection between the camera and the new Sound Devices audio recorder worked perfectly. Used this cable to make the connection. I wasn't sure what length to get but this one, three feet, seems perfect so that I can either have the recorder attached to the camera or sitting off to the side.

Used this recorder to record a demonstration with discussion and it picked up everybody in the room (30+ people) even though the mic was pointed away from them.

I have this one and the rode lavalier. While I think the lav is still better sounding, it's not by much. Used with H1 recorder and rode sc3 trrs to trs adaptor. Wish it came with a better storage solution, just a small drawstring bag.

Used as the primary solution to power an audio recorder. Charge times are reasonably fast and, in my case, batteries lasted all day running at full usage (3 microphones). Would highly recommend and would definitely buy again.
