Using Apple Headphones As Mic On Skype

We were having audio troubles using Skype and the embedded mic in our notebook. Using this headset all worked great. Sent the headset with one of my clients to Japan for four weeks, he is Skyping into the office every day. 5 |

This is the perfect mic for recording a Skype interview. Here's how: Connect the mic's usb output to your computer. In the settings, select the Q2U as your incoming and outgoing sound card. Do the same in Skype. Connect the mic's headphone jack to a dedicated recorder like the Zoom H4, H5 or H6, in channel 1, using an 1/8 to 1/4 cord (or either one with an adaptor on one end). Run the XLR cord from the mic to channel 2 on the recorder. Connect your headphones to the recorder's headphone jack. Make sure the remote guest uses headphones too and both parties have no live speakers. When you're done, you will have a stereo recording with the guest's voice on one channel and your voice on the other. Edit in post as needed with a free DAW like Audacity. You can even sync with video. 5 |

Using this with Rode mic and external power. Clean, no issues. You need the Apple version, don't skimp. 5 |

I used this Mic so far on skype, over ISP phone service and the people on the other end right away could tell the difference. I plan to do much more with this mic, though those were just tests. It is a good buy. Thanks to B&H and the mic company. Would not hesitate to recommend. 5 |

I was looking for some headphones on a budget and these really offer some good quality for the price. Using them to monitor the mic on a video camera. Does great at blocking the outside noise. 5 |

Got it for gaming and voip/skype. I wanted headphones but not a gaming headset. Got a v-moda with it and the BoomPro does a lovely job when I'm online. Sounds crisp to the other person/players. The only thing i personally don't like, more of a pet peeve, is the diamond shape mic and controls. They looks big and clunky. You would think that a company that puts so much into the design and feel of their headphones would actually make something more streamlined, like their SpeakEasy cable. But that's just me. 5 |

For work, Skype etc. Comfortable, doesnt squeeze your head like other over the ear headphones. USB, though have not had problems with it, USB Combo sets tend to have driver problems. 5 |

I'm currently using this mic with a pre-amp into my Asus Xonar STX for Skype. It sounds much better than anything I've used before. 5 |
