Using Headphones In Rehearsal Studio Minimal Setup

Using these in a church. Excellent sound with minimal setup.

This studio monitor control may be passive, but its knob is anything but. Simple setup, minimal cables. Elegant buttons, and one glorious beast of a knob with butter smooth movement.

We use headphones for band rehearsal. I had some handmade wire hangers that I bent to hold the headphones but they were completely wrapped around the mic stand and not easy to remove. So I thought I'd see what was available commercially and discovered the SwirlyHook. Its exactly what we needed. Easy to attach or remove. Easy to move up and down on the stand. More than strong enough to hold any pair of headphones.

Pretty much can use it as a softbox with minimal setup time.

Using this as a backup for my music studio setup, in case of power outage. This runs my 2019 Mac Pro, two 27” displays, my audio interface, my keyboard and all my hard drives. Under that load, I have estimated 25 minutes of battery in case of outage. I love that it has a pure sinewave (not a simulated one, as found in many others), and that it has a voltage regulator so I’m sure my gear always gets pure and steady electricity, even under input fluctuations. This offers peace of mind not to lose work in case of power outage, so it’s worth every penny for me.

Using this plate to put a 30-300 PL on my C500 with 19mm studio setup. Note that you need the Bright Tangerine Left Feld lightweight base with their clamp plate in order to have proper spacing. Kind of pricey but works well.

A great go-to for headphones in the field or studio.
