Using Portable Generator To Charge Camper Battery
Andrea | 2024-09-02 09:21:48 |
We have been using the Delta everyday in our small travel trailer for 4months now and it is great. We can run our entire camper plugged into this beast, although it isn't the best way to do it. We typically use it to power our fridge and all portable devices. It will do so for about 2 days without recharging, but recharging is why this battery generator is special. When we are hooked up to shore power it simply charges from the camper, but when we are boondocking we can charge this so many ways. Mostly we use a portable solar panel or our car if we are driving. Sometimes we take it into the laundromat and charge it while we do laundry, or take into a library and charge it while we catch up online. It charges fast, it's quiet and much better for the environment than using a generator. It can run our microwave toaster oven, water boiler and even our 5000 BTU air conditioning(although it can only do that for about 1.5 hours). Overall very impressive! 5 |

I used solar panels, charge controllers, AGM batteries, and inverters for YEARS when I built out another camper. I was always searching for direct sun to 'refill' my batteries. I was such a pain—a real distraction to my travels. Now, I use an Ecoflow battery generator and their 800-watt charger. Today, I installed the charger. It was very easy compared to all the old components. So, I only need to take a short drive to charge my battery generator fully. My battery generator and charger are both connected to Ecoflow's app. I can watch the progress of charging and discharging. The app is very professional and provides way more information than I need. But it's nice. The battery generator eliminates the need for solar panels, a charge controller, and an inverter. The batteries in the generator are much better quality than the old AGM batteries. I'm so happy to have made the switch. I would recommend their products 100%; I was lucky to have purchased them during Prime Days and saved a considerable amount. They provide quality products. I'm a happy camper without thinking about the charge of my batteries. Life is good. 5 |

I have been looking for a while for a good portable generator with out gas. I have been looking at a lot of these and when the delta pro came out with the bigger outlet, that is what sold it for me. It is very easy to set up and to get the app and have all the info on it. Very easy to plug stuff in and have it work. The info on charging and the uses are great. with having freezers and extra fridges with food, its a must. I am not a preper, but this thing is a must if you have extra appliances that need to run when power is out. sump pumps in storm is a key if you have a basement. It can even charge your Tesla a little bit if needed. Sometimes you just need 5 to 10 miles to get to a charger and this back up gives piece of mind. Its expensive, but worth it. Lots of cycles in the batteries and the life seems to be long. It stores charge for a good while as well. Love the fact that is fully charges in 2 hours with the AC cord. So far I am a big fan of this unit. 5 |

We recently used our new Delta 2 Max and an extra batter for a Delta Max on a week long camping trip. We ran all of our electronics including a 5000btu window AC on our tiny camper without any issues whatsoever. We have solar on the camper and were able to utilize the 2 solar inputs. We use one from the panels and the second from the DC outlet in the vehicle. Also we charged when need using a small inverter generator. The gray part is that we could charge completely in under 3 hours and run the AC all day for the dogs when it was hot. Without the Delta 2 Max we would’ve been just needlessly running a generator. Lots of features and happy to use this setup for many more years. 5 |

Traveled first year with our RV all the way from Virginia to Colorado…. Boon dock a couple of places and it was darn hot!! No power. We had our portable fan as to minimize RV battery but just could not cool it enough. I have added and upgraded our RV battery since last year. In addition I purchased the ecoflow pro, ecoflow pro extra battery, ecoflow portable generator, and also the ecoflow 400W solar panel. I have tested it out and so far it works pretty darn good. Granted it will provide only 6 hours to power essentials and running one of 2 15k BTU AC. Of course I had to add softstart to the RV AC (very easy install). I plan on buying additional extra battery from ecoflow and of course double capacity to the RV batteries as well. Anyway for a beginner RV’er this solved my problems for cooling without excessive manipulation to the RV power system. I just used the 30A converter to 50 A directly to RV power input…and will power on for at least 6 hrs without the 400w solar and portable generator (haven’t tested generator yet) connected. We will see how it goes this year but so far I am very happy with our ecoflow system. Side note I build solar panel holder with pvc wood as it is light, flexible, and easily transported in RV…set it up so it will take less than 5 min to set up. 5 |

Have been using the eco flow river pro for a little over a week. I live off grid and have been using a generator for all my electric needs. Everyday I charge the eco flow river pro with my electric car battery and an inverter in just over an hour. I then charge all my electronics and use my desktop computer for over five hours. Still have enough power in the evening to run lights in the cabin. I can't wait to get my solar hooked up to charge that way and I'll be adding the extra battery soon. This is doing way better then I was expecting.... no more generator except for the air conditioning unit..... 5 |

The Smart Generator Adaptor (SGA) works!! The SGA allows a DC to DC Fast Charge between the Delta Pro 3 (DP3) and the Smart Generator (SG). With the SGA the integration of the SG and the DP3 is complete. With automations and or App settings the SG will auto start to charge the DP3. I especially like the “smart functions” of the generator through the SGA that controls the generator RPM. As the unit approaches the designated SoC the generator begins throttling back to cool the generator before turning itself off when the DP3 reaches the designated charge level. Well worth the investment! 5 |

Using this light as a portable key and also for backlight/fill. A 90 wH Lion battery runs the light for 2 hrs. The color quality is very good, and the bi-color allows fair adjustment of the color temp, if not smoothly. Should be noted that the tungsten LED's are brighter than the daylight, so you get more light intensity (and exposure) the warmer you set this fixture. Still plenty bright in daylight mode at around 7 feet from subject. The yoke (all metal) is very sturdy, and because of the detented washers, does not tilt unintentionally with a battery brick attached. 5 |
