Got this as replacement for previous model! Dependently brighter and rechargeable battery seem to last long time compared to the D cells.

this is great for providing extra battery power. love that it also comes with a back up insert for batteries just in case your rechargeable ones are used up. i love that this also gives extra grip especially when using the larger professional lenses

Solid Light - good to keep in my truck. I like the Dual Power. I keep the rechargeable in the light but keep the alkaline battery pack handy so I can use the light while I recharge the battery outside of the light. Nice and bright.

This is a great emergency light. Comes with a solid rechargeable battery AND the alkaline battery cartridge. Dual power is a great feature. Anyone who has run out of power or had a rechargeable battery reach end of life knows how important it is to be able to switch to alkaline power.

I'm a big fan of rechargeable batteries. Saves a ton of money in the long run. This charger and battery combo is perfect. I love the big LCD display. It lets you know the status of the battery and charging levels which is very helpful. I've had other chargers in the past that would just blink, or give a red/green light. Having a descriptive display is so much better, as you can gauge how much power is left or how much more needs to charge for the batteries to be ready. This is vital. It can also discharge the battery to refresh them. This is also a very handy feature to extend the life of the rechargeable batteries. It will not only charge AA but AAA batteries and I plan to get some AAA's to partner with the AA's that came with this. The batteries themselves work great and last a long time. I'm very impressed with the power and time they give. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review]

The rechargeable lion battery that comes with the XP11R is the only way to go. Reason is simple. It has power to use the turbo feature. That is what makes the XP11R special. It is also very convenient to charge the battery while it is the flash light. I would strongly recommend get at least one spare battery from Coast for these reasons. If you go camping you will have extra power or if your current battery ages and all rechargeable batteries do you have a spare battery. What I did was to get a spare battery and a an extra light: I will probably get one more extra battery for the XP11R. That way I will have two lights two spare battery batteries.

We originally purchased the DXA-MICRO-PRO adapter, which is the same unit except that it is powered by a 9v battery, whereas this unit is powered by a rechargeable battery with an option for an external power cord (USB). Except for how they are powered, and for the addition of the accessory plate, the units are identical. This is the unit to get if you are able to power it from USB or AC-to-USB. Otherwise, your choice is rechargeable battery (this one) or disposable battery (the other one). I hate batteries, so I got this one.
