I live in the Texas Hill Country and investigated lots of filters for photographing the annular solar eclipse, 10/14/23, and the upcoming total solar eclipse in April 2024. I went with the Hoya and was not disappointed. The filter worked beautifully and protected my Nikon D850 and AF-S Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR lens. I used this paper to print images I shot in the south west (e.g., Cedar Breaks,Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, Canyonlands,Antelope Canyon etc). The textured matte provided razor sharp detail of the rocks and sand. the tonal range for highlights (snow covered red mountains) and shadow- (inside canyons) was exceptional. I'm not sure I would use it for portraits (I have not tried it yet), but I think it is an outstanding option for landscapes! The reproduction of color was also spot on. I would not hesitate to recommend this paper for landscapes 5 |

I use it at night for astrophotography here in Cedar City, Utah. Changing batteries can cause the point of aim to be different, using this with my big battery supplies continued power for several hours. 5 |
