Video Audio Not Coming Thru My Plantronics Headset

2024-04-04 04:42:56

My IT group at work provides this headset to employees, so I'm used to it, and when my old Plantronics at home started acting up I took the easy route and ordered this after seeing how ridiculously many headsets are out there. The sound is decent, and the mic works well. The ear cups can get a little warm during a long call, but not terribly so. I do wish the cable was a few feet longer sometimes, but it works fine on a short USB extension if needed.

Paired it up with my Plantronics wireless headset and everything works great

Reviews were somewhat limited so I used reference reviews on the Yumi models as my benchmark. I rolled the dice and am excited to say I'm thoroughly impressed with these guys! Bass extension is better than I'd anticipated and the audio is crisp with vocals really coming through clearly. They're slowly opening up and I'm getting a little more mid range coming through. Thus far with perhaps 10 hours on them, acoustic pop, jazz and rock really shine. My Audio Technica turntable sounds great, really reminding me how much I'd missed my vinyl (tested Def Leppard - Pyromania, Freddie Hubbard - Straight Life, Jack White - Lazaretto). As a note, poor quality audio has been less than stellar so do keep that in mind. The biggest asset for most will likely be the input flexibility, but vinyl heads with limited space will enjoy them I feel. Second may be their look and feel. The unboxing experience is excellent, both speakers protected in cloth sleeves. In your hands, they're sturdy and refined with a good weight. Additionally, the built in DAC for your digital inputs sounds great, though I may try my Schiit Modi out of curiosity. My configuration is Toslink out of my desktop computer (ASRock X99M F4tality) and Audio Technica LP1240 (with Shure M97x) mainly. Bluetooth testing has been very limited and at rather low volumes.

I have a VERY OLD headset and M-12 base from long ago.  Unfortunately, the headset gave out.  But Plantronics still has compatible replacements such as the HW530.   B&H did their usual excellent support and had me a replacement within a few days.

It offers both a USB connection for my computer and a headset jack for my phone. I downloaded Plantronics software for my Windows 10 PC. I am very pleased with this product

I'm using this to replace a cheap in-ear headset that came with one of my Smartphones year ago. I could not believe how comfortable the new Plantronics would be. It's great for hour-long Google Hangouts/Meet and Zoom. People actually mentioned that my voice is much clearer and that there's very little ambient noise, even when someone else in the same room is on a call at the same time. The mute button only mutes on the headset but the volume buttons on the headset control the volume within Linux. I even like listening to music through it.

Purchased this to attempt to upgrade an old Plantronics USB headset with foam ear pads. I liked the foam pads because it didn't isolate outside noise too much which means sidetone isn't quite as important. Comparing these to those, these are more comfortable, but I haven't fully adjusted to increased isolation yet. The adjustment on the headset was pretty loose on one side and would adjust the height when taking the set off. I ended up removing the screws on that side and bending the metal piece to add some stiffness. It's lame that I had to do that, but it now works perfectly. Overall, I don't think I could have found a better headset for my needs, which are conference calls and music.

As usual, Plantronics serves up another terrific product. This is my second Voyager Headset and it's better than the first one I bought 8 or 9 years ago. Keep up the great work.

I purchased this to replace an older Plantronics headset with a failing, no longer supported battery. The CS540 lasts all day and has a far greater range than the one it replaced. It is a little difficult to find the right and most comfortable ear gel piece but I can wear it all day and not have a problem.

I have used the Plantronics StarSet H31CD Headset for over 33 years as a 911 dispatcher. Obviously, I love this model. It is lightweight, very comfortable, and has good incoming and outgoing sound quality. I would highly recommend you purchase the extended warranty on it, though. I've had several of these headsets last for years, but my last one stopped working right at about 1 year. The extended warranty I purchased on it was well worth the price, as I got a refund on my full purchase price, and put that towards purchasing another one (for which I also purchased another extended warranty).
