If you purchase the separate POE-50-60W power adapter and then change the setting to POE Adapter Mode, then this is a nice switch... Currently in a cold 28*F garage powering a UAP-AC-Pro, UAP-AC-LR, UVC-G3-Dome, and UVC-G3-Flex. I don't have direct ethernet to the garage, so it is connecting to the regular network via a powerline adapter plugged into the power adapter. The magnetic mount works great for temporary mounting, as I don't currently have it in its permanent spot yet, but rather just holding it's place on a saw blade resting on a nail in the wall...

Having been on Home Fiber for over a year and noticeable differences in download speeds between PCs with the same setup, I decided it was time to upgrade my home network. I had been using a Nighthawk X4S, but it could not keep up with a family of 6 (with 4 teenage boys who game all the time). In January I started my transition to a new home network setup. I went with Ubiquiti line of products for networking/security and Synology for my NAS. My home already had CAT5e running to the majority of rooms, but I took this time to run some more lines to hard wire as many devices as possible. Below is my current setup. It may be overkill, but I am consistently getting over 900Mbps on all wired PCs (which never occurred), gaming devices are downloading faster than before, and WIFI signal across my house and outdoors (1.5 acre lot), is better than it is has ever been. For the first time, I feel like I am getting the full benefit of Home Fiber. My Synology NAS is attached by to my UniFi Switch via Link Aggregation. Setup was easy and it has been performing flawlessly. I am using it to backup 7 PCs, Photos, Home Videos, Movies, Music. B&H shipped everything out quickly and I received everything in a timely manner allowing me to stay on track with my project. It took my 2 weeks to convert everything from start to finish. We have purchased two of these so far to use primarily as NVRs for a large number of IP cameras on a school campus. Licensing costs aside, Synology Surveillance Station does a really nice job making it easy to set up and scale with the number of cameras you have. We linked two together, making one the primary and the other a secondary target for recordings. Surveillance Station records direct-to-disk, and does a decent job of adjusting camera settings directly using ONVIF. We have about 50+ cameras running at resolutions from 1280x720 up to 2560x1600, some PTZ, some ceiling-mount fisheyes, mostly wide angle fixed, and everything works pretty well. We were even able to use the manual camera configuration to use some uncommon double-lens cameras. With about 26 cameras assigned to each RS422+, we see about 20-25% CPU on each on average during a typical day. We can comfortably handle 32 per unit, and supposedly up to 40 if needed. With x4 6TB drives in each set in SHR-1 (equivalent to RAID5) we have about a month or so of footage retention. The licensing is a little pricey at $50 per camera (unless you buy in bulk from some european IP camera shops...), but it is perpetual and I think worth the expense. Using two of these units, 8 cheap drives from eBay (luckily these do not suffer from the Synology whitelist) and a bunch of camera licenses, for around under $5000 I was able to build and set up a really easy to use and reliable NVR system with plenty of future expandability. 2-3 users are regularly connected on their desktops without issue.

The G3-Flex camera is a POE great camera. The video quality is exceptional, the microphone can pickup conversations from 20 feet or more, installation is simple and effortless. As it is part of system, you do need the Unifi Cloud Key Gen 2 plus Controller (which is also the NVR) and a POE switch or injector.

This camera has all of the features I loved on my Lumix G3, some have been improved, plus features I used to wish it had. 4k video, 4k photo (great feature to play with, just wish they were full mp, not just 8), faster shutter, and one of my favorite updates.. Enough knobs, dials and buttons to put everything at your finger tips!

I recently purchased a number of Kingston 16 GB Data Traveler 100 G3 USB 3.0 Flash Drives. I take pictures for a church group and can share the photos with my friends. The price per drive is less than $4 each. Great value for the money. I would buy again.
