I have this drive running in my surveillance DVR now for about 15 months and it really is the quality I would expect from Western Digital. Today I exchanged this drive for a 3TB purple drive (WD of course), just to maximize the capacity of my DVR. I have never really noticed it but this drive creates a lot of heat when used 24/7 . I know this drive was never meant to be in a DVR but considering the quality of the WD drives, I tried it for about 15 months. That in fact the drive went through this long time running 24/7, confirms my trust in WD drives once more. Out of 35 drives I bought over the years I had only two that failed (fortunately within warranty). Even my oldest drive from 2002 is still up and running. I never was that lucky with drives from other manufacturers. 5 |
