Viewsonic Monitor Dark Top Of Screen

Needed a larger screen for my home setup and decided to go with this monitor. It's a newer model from ViewSonic and I like that it has a built in docking station so I don't have to think about buying one separately. I also like the ergonomics, which made it easier to get it setup.

The Viewsonic VG1655 is an amazing monitor. It feels solid and the image is bright, sharp, saturated, and truly gorgeous. The screen's 16:9 aspect ratio allows multiple app windows to be displayed simultaneously while remaining readable, even with the Windows Scale display setting at 100% rather than 125%. The rear has a swing-out support that can prop up the monitor horizontally or vertically. The magnetic snap-on screen protector is actually quite rigid when mounted and should provide ample protection. The included cables should handle any connection scheme. My application is as a part of a telescope control computer that can be taken into the field. The computer is a mini-PC that normally runs off a 12Vdc adapter. The monitor can be powered from one of the computer's USB ports. With a 12V/6000mAh lithium battery, the entire package will run for about four hours. Haven't tried it yet with a 12V sealed lead acid battery, but I suspect up time to be longer. Overall, the package is a bit more cluttered than using a laptop, but the performance and flexibility are greater, IMO. Minor criticisms: 1) the included cables are all longer, thicker, and more rigid than seems necessary, but that might be an advantage for some, and 2) built-in speaker volume and quality are a bit wimpy, but they are included and still consistent with how the monitor will be used. The Viewsonic VG1655 is one of the few products I've purchased that so well exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended.

I've used a 24 Viewsonic VX2452-MH for years to edit with Pro Tools on a Mac Mini and wanted something bigger or possibly a dual monitor setup. I tried a 32 Viewsonic VX3276-4K-mhd but the internal power supply had an annoying hum and the screen just wasn't as nice as my 24. B&H's great return policy allowed me to exchange the 32 for the 27 VA2759-SMH. Although a bit smaller than the VX3276, it's a much nicer screen and almost a perfect match to my older 24 despite this being a IPS monitor and my VX2452 is a TN monitor. Very pleased with the monitor and with B&H!

I could not be more pleased with this ViewSonic product. The OLED screen produces a gorgeous image. The unit is feather light. The integrated stand is much sturdier than I anticipated. I am finding myself to be much more productive using this portable screen than using the Xybec Tri-Screen that I was previously using. It's simpler to carry; it's simpler to set up, and it has far, far better image quality. In shorter, where has this been all my life? I agree with some reviewers that the cover that comes with the monitor does not readily attach. To protect the monitor when I am carrying it, I am using instead a Ruggard ultra-thin sleeve that I ordered with the ViewSonic monitor.

The Viewsonic TD1655 worked perfectly out-of-the-box including the touch screen. Didn't even need calibration adjustments. In five minutes I was up-and-running, INCLUDING extended display (it is the upper-left in the photo). If you don't need a touchscreen, Viewsonic has models at lower price points. It fits in my backpack briefcase and my messenger bag and has a protective cover that snaps on magnetically. I had borrowed, tried or bought-and returned four portable monitors, none of which worked without some effort. One didn't work at all despite an hour of trying everything I could think of (and it wasn't cheap). Another required a separate power source - for a portable monitor? Seriously, they expect me to carry another power supply on the road? From those experiences I looked at the specs of a couple dozen more, and then decided to try the Viewsonic TD1655. It is head-and-shoulders above all the others, even ones that were more expensive. The only possible exception was the Lenovo M14. I have used Thinkpads exclusively for years, currently have four between my wife and myself (all Yogas). I really wanted it to be the one, but the smaller screen was a deal breaker. After receiving the Viewsonic I discovered, besides the larger screen, that it had better features and more adjustments. Search no more and don't waffle about a few dollars. This is the only portable monitor to buy.

Glad to have this coverage for my Viewsonic ProColor monitor.

I was concerned choosing a IPS panel over a VA panel, because our living room TV is an OLED and I'm a huge fan of inky dark blacks. But 4k @ 32 inches requires you to sit pretty close, and the viewing angles on a VA panel are just too bad for that (major color degradation at edges) and I can't tolerate the distortion from curved screens. Turns out my fears were unwarranted! With the proper settings (Black Level High, brightness & contrast at reasonable levels) the monitor doesn't suffer from raised (greyish) blacks, and there's only a slight amount of black crush at the tail end of the spectrum. The highlights are great, viewing angle is nice, no obvious issues with screen uniformity, motion, etc. The only minor issue I have with the screen is the finish - it's a semi-gloss/matte combo that does a poor job of diffusing reflections. It is very sensitive to any kind of light shining directly on the screen. If you have a dark office, no issues, but if you're right next to a window the light can be very distracting. Luckily the monitor gets VERY bright, so you can adjust as needed to drown out most of the glare. For the price, the monitor really exceeds my expectations. I use it mostly for work (coding/office/etc., lots of small text) and it's looks fantastic even with 150% scaling enabled. I haven't tried it out for any gaming (planning to hook old XBox One X up to it at some point), but if the 4k videos I've watch on it are any indication, it should look great!

I love this external monitor. The color is beautiful. High quality image that's very close to my 1DX Mkiii. You can add luts to it through the included 8 gb SD on the top. And comes with clear screen protector. You can change screens by sweeping or add them by pinching out (which I had to experiment to find out) Each screen can be a different preset or you can add different settings to each screen. And the touch functions are very responsive. After using this a few times, I can see why it's so expensive. It's like an iPad in functionality and external monitor in process. Has screw holes on the sides, bottom and back, but no top. But the screen can auto rotate if you want it upside down from the bottom screw. Uses two L batteries. One L lasts awhile. The one and only thing I would comment as being negative, this thing gets hot! Like a few degrees from being untouchable. Imagine being outside or on set without airflow, I don't understand how this thing doesn't catch fire. I love this thing. It's a great companion to my 1dx mkiii. I can't wait to use it more. I've made a few mistakes in the past which having a bigger screen will help with. Always improving. This is a good step forward.

And also have found it useful as a desk lamp. It is mounted over and behind my large screen monitor, which has a video camera mounted on top of the monitor. The Godox LED light is tilted down about 30 degrees, illuminating my work surface perfectly. When on a video conference, the remote lets me easily adjust the light based on room lighting at the time of day or evening. Great product!

This monitor is the perfect size to sit on top of my Panasonic AG UX90. The screen is clear and has great configuration options. The best feature is being able to do an HDMI passthrough.
